Half-brothers Peachy Keeno and the younger Pookie Wookie Bear are contrasts in the garden. Peachy practically matches the silk flowers, while Pookie definitely blends into the background. When I called up the picture to crop it, I suddenly noticed Pookie!Peachy looks so frail here, just as he does this summer; we keep thinking, "This summer is his last", but he rebounds each time! Mom tells him, "Don't go using up your lives, Peachy!"

Yes, they love Mom's garden, which runs along the front of the house. Years ago, I found the little marker "Garden of Weeden". So, that's what we've called it since. All of the cats who manage to escape outdoors love this garden, as well as the area around the smoke tree, which they love to sleep in and escape from dogs in when it has grown out.
