Ok so my favorite book series (Sword of Truth books) has a mini series as of this last fall. I only saw the first several episodes and in my opinion they suck, I won't go into the hows and the whys cuz that rant would take forever. Lets just say in the third epi everything that happened was completely made up, it fit in now where with any of the books let alone the one the mini series is based off of >.<So this is me making fun of it. Those of you who have seen the show know what I'm ripping on. For those of you who haven't it's of the made up Map-Maker dude and Zedd (one of the actual characters).
Please don't rant to me about how you also hate the show or why you think it's good. I'm reposting this from my old account where I heard a ton of that, and on the stamp I made, and on the second comic I made, and since I run the only sword of truth fan club here on dA, I know what everyone who posted on there thinks of it

Thanks. I stopped watching after the first like...5-6 episodes cuz I couldn't take it anymore so I don't really know if it returned more to the books after that, but from what I've seen/heard it didn't o3o;

Justtttttt to clear a couple things up. The book and the series aren't supposed to be the same. A lot of it is an alternate univers.. I read the book going gahhhhhh they are soo different (the series vs the books)
but they both have their good/bad points.
That being said, I think the picture is really cute. I laughed really when I saw it.

I was reading some LotS fanfics (for the sake of it) and quite obviously these crazy randoms have read the books... but really didn't understand the story. There's this one where the mapmaker makes a map with holes in it that's supposed to lead them to Aydindril.
And one where Rahl and Giller have gay sex.
Which makes NO SENSE AT ALL.
Oh, and speaking of Aydindril? I've (technically) been there. It's set on a mountain called Mt Ruapehu. Which is... not a very good place to be whatsoever. I have a strange hatred for snow-related sports (except for snowball fights).

The only reason I started reading LotS fanfic was because it sorts stays on-track with LotS. Most of the SoT fanfic goes a bit crazy... when I can even find it. My Internets box HATES me, and enjoys crashing.
Personally, I prefer fanart. Art tells stories of its own, often with more punctuation and less typos than fanfic.

Yeah, I know the feeling. My friends have read bits and pieces of my ones, and almost (but not quite) get the gist of it, but then when I say things like 'hey, remember the part where Kahlan had to marry Drefan in TotW?' they're like... 'wait... what? That happened??'
No matter how many times I tell them it's a good idea to read the whole thing, they prefer Twatlight.
