Description I loved the texture of this chain. It was right by the waterway, and was quite rusty in spots.

cool focus for sure...
rusty chains are always a plus..
would have been even greater is the camera could pick up on the really minute details eh.

yeah, I was wandering around with a fellow traveler I met, and I kept stopping to take random photo's, and I think she was getting a little irritated at me...LOL Oh well...I did feel a bit rushed, or I could have probably focused a little better. thanks for you comment.

Your work is really getting better and better. It seems like everytime you post new work, I love it more than the earlier stuff you posted. I read some of your other comments and I agree that it sucks that good work often goes unnoticed. I noticed that once I posted the nudes I got a flood of comments from males. You were right, flesh attracts attention, and unfortunately it seems like this site has a thing for nudes. I hope that more people become interested in other genres of photography because you are one of the best photographers on this site and I want people to see your work!

Wow... I really appreciate that comment a lot. I am a bit modest...so I don't know that I would agree with my stuff being some of the best. LOL but thanks so much for thinking soo.

the rust bring this alive. the colours of metal just don't have to be silvery or grey... and the red hues in this really give life to the picture.
the DOF in this gives me a feeling of exaggerated perspective, and the coiled metal effect on the foreground chain section makes it feel like i'm holding tightly onto this end.
there's something of the nature of umbilical cords in this picture... what lifeline is this chain? what is it connecting me to? something majestic, old, rusting, and out-of-frame... there's a magical aura of historical gravity to this piece. i like it a lot.

Thank you soooooooo much for that great comment. I loved all the texture and the twisted metal too...and I love your point of view from this. You are very thoughtful!

well, it's a good piece... i flicked through your gallery too... and it just underlined for me how a good gallery by no means gets you pageviews... just how many good deviations are people missing out on just because they're hidden away where noone looks? it's crazy...

thank you... sometimes I wonder about that. I have seen rather poor quality work with tens or hundreds of comments...and I just shrug. I guess it's cause I haven't really been active on DA until about a month or so ago. Its all about your DA friends I guess. But Thank you so much for your browse and your nice comments.

no problem. keep up the good work
and maybe one day DA will optimize so that it's easier to find good work, even from inactive deviants... as one day a lot of us who are on now will be... will DA become a historical repository, will it die or will it be a seething heap of new stuff? dunno... i might follow that one up.
anyway. thanks for putting up that pic.

hehehe..thanks..it was not up high, actually just on a path along the waterway in Liverpool. Thank you for the comment, and should I be flattered or apologetic that you may have become afraid of heights.

Oh, flattered to be sure!
Matrix3 helped me to develop my first fear of heights.. but this sort of thing tends to wear off after a couple of days or so, after which time I resume being afraid of spiders ^^ (but during those couple of days of vertigo, all spiders had better look out!)
..Heh, yes, my phobias are interchangable and override each other ^^
Anyway, ranting, sorry!
But yes, flattered; an image that can evoke emotion, (or in this case, psychological distress (just kidding ) is very impressive indeed
