Empathetic | Playful | Hardworking | Independent
Ambitious | Intense | Persistent | Experimental
Emotional | Boisterous | Forgetful | Insecure
With a smile as bright as any sun paired with a friendly demeanor, Bean exudes warmth and energy. She learned from Oumi's empathetic nature, always willing to listen to others and consider their feelings. From a small infant till now, she has never really changed: playful, energetic, ambitious... loud. Despite her short stature, she seeks big goals and accomplishments, working very hard to get to where she wants to be. Giving up without a fight just simply isn't in her personal dictionary. She can be rather intense, her emotions and actions coming off a little too strong for some, but she just has too much excitement and energy to displace. This can also make her a bit too noisy for some, especially when one can hear her going wild getting lost in the woods. Unfortunate... it makes her terrible at hide and seek. Bean loves to crack small jokes or friendly pranks here and there to lighten the mood, nothing too serious. She might be the only one laughing but that doesn't stop her. Growing up with only one "parent figure", she is rather independent now, trying to do things on her own first before consulting others if needed.
Despite how often she is seen happy and smiling, she is quite an emotional person, feeling down one moment then cheerful the next depending on the situation. Deep down, she is rather insecure with herself and tries very hard to remain confident on the outside. Yet, there are times when she can't help but question herself and her actions. Bean is always on the lookout for novelty and creativity, looking for something out of the box. Her experiments can lead to trouble from time to time, but it's the experience that counts. One can simply learn from their mistakes and try again. Often times Bean constantly finds herself forgetting things, getting lost, or spacing out. In order to keep herself focused, she scribbles notes here and there, making sure she's always prepared with a map (even though she still gets lost with it) or information.▶ Likes:

...there was a large basket left on the doorstep of a cottage near the woods in Hoshido. No, it wasn't Little Red Riding Hood's sweets, but what was inside was something much more precious. Wrapped in some scrap fabric was a small sleeping infant, tucked in with a roll of paper tied off with blue ribbon. Oumi, the owner of the home had stared at the infant for quite some time, wondering what a young handsome bachelor like himself would do with a child. She looked weird. No one was going to date him like this. He couldn't leave her out here. His brain was jumbled with a bunch of thoughts, but he finally gathered the courage to read the note:
Please take care of my precious bean sprout.
That was it? Strange, yet he decided to "adopt" the infant anyways and called her Bean. Later on, she could name herself whatever she wanted but for now. she was a bean sprout. The little infant grew up rather quickly, constantly eating, sleeping, and trying to climb everything as soon as she could move on her own. Oumi had his hands full keeping the excited child from getting into trouble, worried so much he couldn't even look away for ten seconds without feeling anxious. Yes, she was ruining his life and future plans... but he didn't hate it. So he stayed single and Bean continued to sprout, both in size and in his heart.
Oumi had a garden that he planted near the woods, filled with all sorts of plants, from medicinal herbs to flowers. When Bean was but a hyper toddler, he took her there and started teaching. He taught her the names of the plants and their uses, taught her how to care for and appreciate them. He was an apothecary who honestly didn't know what else to teach her, but she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she greatly enjoyed the little garden, sneaking out at night to sing to and admire the plants every once in a while. Perhaps the origin of her name was hinting at something, but she really did have a way with plants, learning about them quicker than she could learn how to read and write. By the time she was eight years old, he took her to the markets with him, showing her how he sold goods made from these plants to others. Years later, an eleven year old Bean was a regular helper at his stall and wouldn't leave, no matter how hard he tried to get rid of her for a bit. Figures.
The time came when Bean became a teenager... while Oumi still remained happily single. The two of them were content in each others' company for now, the small cottage always filled with noise and life. Occasionally Bean would try to find him a girlfriend or bother him with her persistence, but everything was well. She was following his footsteps too, working her way to become the best apothecary in town (as she said). When she was thirteen, she accidentally got lost selling herbs. Fourteen when she got her steel yumi and nearly hit his butt with an arrow. Sixteen when she got her heart broken by a boy. Bean was growing up so quickly Oumi couldn't help but fear that she would fly away one day... but they always did sooner or later. He would be ready by then. It just came sooner than he thought. On her eighteenth birthday, someone showed up on their doorstep as Bean did many years ago. It was an older woman who broke out in tears at the sight of her, much to her bewilderment. They let her in and she told them a story. It was about Bean's mother... who had given her up because she couldn't take care of her properly. Who wished to see her as a grown woman someday. Who had joined the Hoshidan army ages ago.
Oumi and Bean spent one more year together before she decided to go and search for her mother. It was fine; they knew it would happen sooner or later. He couldn't teach her a lot about the world when he didn't experience much of it himself. It was time for her to go and paint this picture on her own. Hoshido and Nohr were in conflict and they had no idea if she would return the same, but it was worth it. Nineteen years old and ready to write her own story, Bean set off and enlisted in the Hoshidan army, hoping with all of her heart that maybe someday, she would come face-to-face with the woman she desperately wished to know more about... the end for now!"
A moment of silence follows and she stares at you expectantly, as if waiting for you to say something. "Well? Aren't you going to tell me yours?"▶ Voice:
