This puppy was done in about an hour and a half this evening. The focus was mainly on making believable looking clouds than the dragon, but I'm quite pleased how it all came out.light brushes by

what a great and very dynamic pose!
the clouds sort of loose focus and are hard to see around the edges, and might be a bit too purple for your lighting, but you've got a great start on the texture and look! Keep up the great job!

The clouds look really fantastic. I like how you represent the wings flapping. And I love how the dragons shadow flows over the cloud.
Even though you say the dragon is not the main focus of the image, it is the very first thing I see when I look at the image. I think you need a bit more colors in the dragon, or more of a range in the brownish tan spectrum to really make it pop. Maybe a light hint of scales.
