Description Yay more sketchbook fun. These were made while I was on holiday on Ibiza. There's Bubbles the Pilot whale from Seaworld, some more random pilot whales, a couple of Sperm whales, a Hawaiian spinner dolphin and a Short-beaked common dolphin. I think my favourite is the baby sperm whale hanging at the surface, waiting for the adults to return from their deep dive they're just embarking on. All the pilot whales are unfortunately a little misshapen lol.

Also, look, pen sketches! Good quality!

nice stuff! and pen sketches are the best, I don't ever do pencil sketches anymore they smudge too much so me XD

I especially like the cross hatching shading on the top pilot whale, nicely done

Thank you! Oh I totally agree, smudginess is THE reason I sort of gave up on sketching things with pencil. Couldn't bear the smears anymore XD

It looks like the pilot whale is shooting out stars from its blowhole, so cool! ⭐

Yeah, I tried to illustrate the way in which bubbles underwater can catch a glint of sunlight and glisten like stars - but in the end they turned out to look a bit like stars themselves

Bubbles I can't believe my aunt has seen her almost three decades ago! I love the way you draw Pilots c: In fact all of the sketches look amazing!

Oh wow, that is a long time ago! While looking for photos of her I actually learned that there were at least three different pilot whales at Seaworld who were called Bubbles :0 (hence the 'Bubbles III' here). Yay, thank you very much! :>

Here's some photos she took, Bubbles is in one of them: iiduh.deviantart.com/art/Help-… Did they think 'Bubbles' is a name above all other names? Why? You're welcome!

Oh that's so cool! I think I actually saw those photos way back when you'd uploaded them. Really neat to see such an old picture of her.

And I don't know what's up with the name haha. Maybe Bubbles was such an iconic or well-loved resident of the park when the first one arrived that the others that came after her were also named Bubbles? A bit like 'shamu' and 'flipper'?

It might have been easy for the children too, and of course it's a very cute name

YEESSS BOTH LOVELY WHALES THAT DON'T GET AS MUCH LOVE AS THEY SHOULD I'm personally mesmerized by Sperm whales, just for how deep they dive. Two thousand metres below the surface of the ocean, can you imagine that? They've got such a weird head shape too it's great Yes yes you go do that, educate yourself on these brilliant beasts. THANK YOU
