Description B-17 Flying Fortress.

Second of ten photos taken for my final project in the photography class I took this quarter. My theme is "War planes". Black and white film.

The B-17 is probably one of my favorite airplanes EVER. My grandfather flew in one during World War two. I love B-17s. Yes, I'm a dork, but that's why you all love me.

Taken at the United States Air Force Museum.

You and me both! I love the B-17..it's my favorite bomber (favorite fighter being the P-51 Mustang). I forget, is this a G model or a later H model?

Have you ever seen one fly 10 feet over teh runway with the gear up?

Um... This one's the "Shoo Shoo Baby", so I think it's a G model. But what I think is even cooler is that the Museum is currently doing restoration work on the "Memphis Belle" so that it can be put on display.

That's cool, I know it's needed restoration for some time...technically so does it's movie version. I saw it in person when it flew into my local airport..it was grounded for weeks due to engine troubles. There was oil residue all over the wings and the sheetmetal looked a bet warped...a far cry from the gorgeous 909 I saw (which is the one the flew close to the runway as a stunt a few years prior).

If you feel like it, you can see my photo work, which is of a 1959 Buick LeSabre. You photos came out very clean without dust showing up..mine had some even after cleaning.
