Description
The young grey stallion stood on shaky legs, gasping with his head hung low between his knees. Each breath he took sent pain through his side where the larger stallion had rolled on top of him. For sure several of his ribs were bruised, in fact he'd be lucky if a few were not fractured. Hot blood trickled from the fresh wounds he had received from his competitor, mixing with the rain as it clung with the mud to his coat. He'd done it! As tired as he was, the fact that he had managed to win against the brute sent a bout of energy throughout his worn body. It was a good thing too, because the war was not over yet. Horses from Olde still stood, meaning they had not won - not yet. Taking in a deep, painful breath Kyanos rose his head to sit tiredly upon his broad shoulders, standing tall once more. The rush that accompanied his victory was enough to present him with his second wind, and just in time.
It was time to fight again. The shape of a horse formed in the dim light of the slowly rising sun that promised to chase away the shadows of the night. If only it could chase away the signs of the war. Even with his fuzzy vision he could see bodies scattered about the battle field. He couldn't tell how many were alive and how many had given their lives, but it was still a sorrowful sight. He was glad for once that his eyes refused to show him details. He didn't want to see the blood that he could smell, matting the coats of the bodies, mixed with the mud that had turned the field into a soupy mess. He didn't want to see the damage done - damage so great that it caused cries and screams to meet his ears from every direction. He didn't want to see the sorrow for the lost loved ones that he could just feel in the air. It was a war and he wished not to see it. Living it was plenty for him.
What he did want to see though was the horse that would become his next partner in battle. He hated this way of running wildly toward the enemy and only being able to decide his plan of attack moments before he reached them as they came into sight. Sure, it made him very unpredictable, which had turned out to be an advantage in his last fight, but he didn't like not being able to plan ahead. He lived by formulating tactics and this new approach was making that completely impossible. His ears though, they had come in great handy. This new gift from the witch was becoming more useful than he could have predicted. He could literally hear his enemy's breathing and their every step as they approached him, giving him that advantage to make up for the disadvantage of a lacking sight.
The young stallion gave a heavy snort when his alert ear picked up the sound of footsteps in the mud. He quickly swung his head around, narrowing his ghostly eyes to peer in the direction of the stranger. He waited, straining to see if they were friend or foe. It was then that a bolt of lightning struck through the sky, lighting the world around him just enough to see the shape of the horse as they lingered in the distance, probably catching their breath as well after a hard fought battle. He wouldn't give them that chance though. With a loud whiny he charged toward them. Blinking against the rain that pelted into his face and ignoring the pain of his weary body he ran to face his next opponent.

I am SO proud of Ky for getting this far. He made it all the way to the final round. I really do hope he is able to win this round too, but even if he doesn't, it was awesome that I was able to bring him so far. He should be proud of himself. And he thought he was going to be a failure in this war. Turns out he has become quite the useful asset. Good luck to you on this one buddy.
So yep One more down. This one was such a blast too! I kind of got really busy last week at work, so I was really glad when they made an extension. Otherwise this would have just been a head shot of some sort, as that's all I had the time or energy to do after cleaning stalls all day long. Now that I've been home I've been busy in other ways though by helping to take up the slack since mom is out of commission with her back right now. Lots of errands to run, people to pick up, things to drop off, and many trips taking the dog out. At least I'm with family though. But anyways. Last night I suddenly remembered that I hadn't even started my picture for Ky's objective yet... so yeah. I got up early this morning and have been working on it almost non stop (minus some trips taking the dog out and eating) until now. And then, I had this all set for an animation and Gimp couldn't handle the size... so I almost freaked out thinking I wouldn't be able to animate... but thankfully I found this cool site online and was able to do it, no downloading or anything. It was very nice and saved my butt big time.
I've never done this sort of animation before though so I'm quite happy. I have done blinking and once did snow, but I've never done something that has more than one moving thing to it. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, even if I have noticed some bad-looking spots in the rain. I've already saved it all into flat images, so sadly I can't go fix those. Oh well, I still really like it. Well, good luck to Kyanos. ^^
Ugh, I just realized how much making this a gif killed my details. I was really, Really happy with the background too. *sigh* Well, to show how it looks, I'll just link a stash copy of the final picture without the animation and trust no one to download it and use it. So, here it be: TheLastBattle

Yeah I thought an animation would add some life to the picture so to speak.
Oh gosh, that would be so awesome to see! The whole objective just come alive with moving ponies, falling rain, flashing lightning and all the works!
Thank you so much. I thought it would be a good idea to add the blood red to signify all of the blood that was shed during this war.
You're very welcome. I just had to add them in. They are two of my favorite characters in CW so it was just meant to be.
Oh gosh don't say that! I was staring at your image for so long yesterday. It looks so beautiful! I saw all of those details and I cried over them. It's just beautiful and I was so grateful I wasn't up against that. I was awed by your beautiful details. You should be very proud of them.
