I consider this a WIP, but liked it so much I thought it warranted posting.
Working up a new character was not on my list, especially a character that wasn’t purely mine. The Cavewoman naked bondage peril scene forced my hand. The greatest flaw in G2F reared its ugly head – bending. Her thigh-hip joint looked horrible in the more extreme pose I put her in, and the knees weren’t much better. So, I thought why not see how Meriem looks as a G3F, with its superior bending and musculature. It’s a nice break from the pace I’ve been working the past week. Meriem is worth the effort. She’s my favorite comic character, and I’m likely to do much more naked bondage peril … I mean … fanart with her.
Not bad! She certainly bends a heck of a lot better, as seen here. This isn’t exactly a walking pose. Her muscles just snap. I’m not sure what the complaint is, but I get excellent expressions from a V7.
This Meriem’s body is a purely custom V7HD. I studied Budd Root’s pinup drawings while sculpting her. She isn’t nearly as stylized (sliders only do so much compared to a pencil), but I like it. She looks like someone who grew up after being molecularly enhanced at age 6. Her face is 50% FWSA Matti, 25% FWSA Filia, and 25% Sunny. I’m not totally sold on the face, but I like the effect. Budd’s version is highly stylized, but I wanted to keep his concept of Meriem’s round, sweet face. Overall, Meriem V7 looks like Alex Ross painted his version of Budd’s Cavewoman for a cover. Not a bad place to be. I’ll probably keep testing different face combinations, then get in there and do some fine tuning.
Later, I’ll see how she looks in Meipe’s Headlights, which seem to promise the ability to give Meriem her classic puffy areolas (otherwise not possible with the primitive mesh of G3F). Geografts. Gotta love them. Not seen here is the fact that Meriem is my first character with pubic hair. The G2F version has pubic hair but it doesn’t fit nearly as well as 3Feetwolf’s for his own Gens for G3F. If one of my girls is going to have a rug, she’s going to have a real rug, and not flat stuff painted on the map. Like Oh My Brows, this way, I can match the rug to the draperies.
Skin is Skinvent run through Skin Builder 3. I’ll rework the skin in GIMP to make the tanlines a bit more obvious (as in lighten the areas usually covered by the bikini). I may also revisit my usual shader settings to bring out more surface detail. Meriem looks a little gray and plastic, so perhaps my shaders aren’t applicable to every character even in the same skins (Aura and Sasha wear the same).
The hair is a placeholder. Right now, she wears Sunny Hair. I’m on the prowl for something that better looks like Meriem’s long, wavy, behind the shoulders do. It also has to be posable for action scenes. Kimberly Hair fits the bill, but it looks way too coarse in Iray. Rafaella looks wonderful and has the perfect shape, but I can’t figure out how to pose it. Mada has the right look, but it’s too much in her face. OOT’s hair is too sleek and stylish for a half-feral predator. So, I’ll keep looking.
That bikini though! Ugh! It’s a stopgap just to cover the girl (yeah, I know, bummer!). It’s totally inaccurate. If I’m going to all this trouble, then Meriem’s bikini is going to be as accurate as possible. I’ve long threatened to make my own bikini for Aura, and making one for Meriem will be good practice in that direction. I’ll have to learn weight mapping to keep the loin cloth from sticking to her thighs and tearing the mesh.
So, the next time we see Meriem V7, she won’t be wearing that bikini. Or any other for that matter!
For the Beach Volleyball image, I’ll use the V6 version just so one resource-hog V7 doesn’t overtax a scene with four V6s. It does happen.
