Description OMG! 75 faves?! Thanks so much guys, you're the best!

IT'S DONE! IT'S DONE! This is the best picture I've ever drawn! I've been working on it for over a month (44 days to be exact XD), but it was on and off, but for the last week or so I've really been working hard to finish it And here it is! I'm so proud of this, I did everything by hand (using only the default brushes on Photoshop), and I think it's one of my best bg's yet, even though it's simple And once again, I have to give EXTREME thanks to *EscyKane and =SageSinRiddle for allowing me to lease Behind My Pokerface and Athan Ambar!!! This is probably going to be the best foal NHS has ever had I can't WAIT till I can start showing him

Story (Long alert! XD)
It had been nearly 17 months of excruciating waiting, but finally the day had come. NHS’s first foal of the year was about to arrive. NHS hadn’t had a foal since the spring of the previous year, so this particular baby was especially exciting; not to mention his spectacular bloodlines. As September dawned, NHS had withdrawn a bit from competitions to prepare for the serious fall/winter show season, so things had fallen into a slow, regular pace. The school horses were getting numerous days off after the hectic 3 months of summer camp, and the boarders just starting to begin training for the upcoming show reason. The staff had even began practicing a few more tranquil habits, such as sleeping in later, but today, that definitely wasn’t going to happen. Kianah woke up at 6:00 in the morning to check to make sure everything was in order for the 6-month old colt’s arrival. All of the stall were immaculate, every single water bucket was filled, everything was in it’s correct place, and there wasn’t a single piece of hay dirtying the aisle. Kianah smiled; for a such a quaint, antique-looking stable, NHS looked pretty nice. At 7, the rest of the staff emerged and began grooming horses, then, at 8:00 sharp, Kianah heard the crunching of the gravel driveway and turned to see the Elbdale Stables trailer pulling up. She shifted her weight from one foot to another, barely able to contain her excitement. David Greenmore himself, the owner of Elbdale Stables, had come to deliver the colt. He stepped out of the car and greeted the NHS staff before making his way to the back of the trailer and opening it up to reveal an equine who was easily one of the most magnificent young horses Kianah had ever seen. She had met him before soon after he was born, but he had undergone a huge transformation from the time he wasn’t even 6 days old to nearly 6 months old.
“I trust you remember Ben?” David prompted as he unloaded the stunning weanling. Ben pricked his fuzzy ears towards Kianah and nickered softly in faint recognition. Kianah nodded enthusiastically and approached the little colt, holding her hand out so he could sniff her hand. Ben nibbled Kianah’s fingers gently and she laughed, rubbing his silky forehead. She couldn’t believe that this amazing little colt was hers.
“He’s... wow,” she murmured and she continued to stroke Ben’s mahogany and white face.
“Yeah, he’s something else,” David agreed, giving the youngster a pat himself. “He’s a little shy towards people he doesn’t know, but he’s really sweet and loves to please.”
“He sounds like my kind of horse,” Kianah said. “I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
“Glad to hear that,” David replied with a smile.
Kianah showed David around the barn, pointing out Ben’s stall and the quarantine paddock he would stay in until he was used to the other horses. Finally, it was time for David to go and leave the little colt to his new life. Kianah and let Ben into his paddock so he could start to acclimate himself with his new environment before going with David back out to his truck so she could see him off. Once they were at the truck, David turned to Kianah. “Take good care of him, and don’t be afraid to give me a call if you have any questions,” he told her.
“I definitely will,” Kianah assured him, waving as David climbed back into his truck and began the drive back to Elbdale.

NHS Bein Galad
Basic Info
Show name: NHS Bein Galad
Barn Name: Ben
Nickname(s): Benny, Lad
Gender: Colt
Breed: Trakehner (slight Arabian influence)
Age: Weanling
Height: Should grow to about 17hh
Color: Bay frame overo
Markings: See pic
Discipline: This boy will try a little bit of everything! Dressage, cross country, show jumping, and eventing until we find which one he enjoys most And if he likes them all equally, he will continue to be an all-around english horse
Genotype: Ee/Aa/nO
Genetic Notes: 50% of foals will inherit the overo gene. Foals can be bay, black, or chestnut in base color.
Breeder (owner of dam at time of birth): *EscyKane 's Elbdale Stables
Conformation: Ben has very nice conformation that is textbook Trakehner! However, he does have a couple of Arabian traits: he tends to carry his tail a little higher than normal and his face is slightly dished.

Breeding
Breeding Status: Closed, too young
For lease: Closed, too young

Background
History: After Kianah booked a breeding between Elbdale Stables' Behind My Pokerface and Ocean View Equestrian Center's OVEC Athan Ambar, a healthy colt was born 11 months later, ready to go to his new home at NHS
Personality: He's fairly shy around new people and is more of a one person horse, though he's a sweetie to everyone He loves to learn and will to anything for a good scratch!
Training Notes: All Ben wants to do is please! He's super easy to work with and takes new things in stride. He really only gets overwhelmed when there's a huge crowd around him, since he's a little shy
Vices: None! He's such a sweety
Quirks: He's such a love that he adores to do chores with people and has a bit of separation anxiety.
Feed: Grass-fed

Ok, this will not be much of a critique cuz this is FRICKIN AMAZING!!!

The foal is adorable, and the coloring is so realistic. It looks like a photo! (Please do a realistic coloring tutuorial. PLEASE XD)

The grass is lovely. I like the splotches of fall colors on it. It doesn't look like leaves, but it gives a great effect to the image.

The sky is great as well. Overall I love the colors in this image. It's very warm.

Now onto the "slightly less than perfect" stuff. The fence is well colored, but it looks uneven in the part right behind his head. The grass and trees that are very far away look a bit odd (the colors are great though!) They should be smudged or blurred more. Also you can see some white spots in the grass.

All in all, GREAT image!

WOW this picture is epic! You've spent so much time on it but the result is great! So many details, I love all the wrinkles in the skin and the sweet expression! Bein Galad is going to be such an impressive stallion, I love his color. And his legs look so fragile and elegant! He's just perfect

Thank you for the sweet story. I could imagine so well how it would look at NHS, and I almost could feel the excitement of your stable members when the trailer arrived. Thehe, you're lucky David took the time to take the foal to it's new home himself, he's so shy, he doesn't get out very often. ^^ But he does his best ^^

Bein Galad will have a great future at NHS. It's the best start into life he can have. Your stable is caring so well for it's horses.
