The orcas were used to diving deep to sicgill sharks and other large prey. So far their massive size advantage and large numbers had always left them successful, but this time they encountered something even larger than themselves, something they were unable to drive off, as the megalodon actively seeked contact with the whales. Used to taking prey of such size, like young whales of larger species, the orcas took too long to notice they were outmatched and only when several metres wide jaws drove hand sized serrated teeth into one of them, did the pod decide to flee, leaving the large shark to feed on one of them. The guts which had processed a few of the shark's smaller cousins were now ripped out with a few seemingly effortless tosses of its head and siftly gulped down, soon followed by the remainder of the creature. As it digested its multi ton meal, the shark would track the pod from afar, a week from now or maybe two, it would be hungry again and a group of blubber rich animals forced to surface for air any hour or so was like a living food basked for the massive shark.
