Description Hi, After shooting some pics at my friends farm, I took a walk on the dirt road by the marsh. I found a spot that I was able to make a temp blind of sorts and then waited for what would show. Not more than 20 minutes later this Kingfisher lands in a tree, not that far out. I was able to get a couple of pics before it noticed me and flew away.

Very nice!

There's at least one kingfisher that lives at a local park. However, it's always on the opposite side of the lake at the limits of my zoom, so the best I've gotten was a pixelated picture of it. One of these days I may need to leave the dog at home and do a stake-out.

Hi, Thank you very much!

If you watch, these birds have like a favorite tree or branch they always land on. One day leave the dog at home and find a place to hide close to these spots and then just wait'em out.

I've got about 2-3 spots in mind. The main problem is finding the time to go out (and hope that the weather's decent). I also need to find good stake-outs overlooking those spots where there isn't too much vegetation.

Well you can always just wear dark colored clothing, and then step into the bushes and wait. I've done this before and it works.
