Description Well I finally took some photos of the Superhornets I finished. Not my best work, but they look ok (from a distance!). The decals on both were a nightmare; took me days to finish and a lot ripped or came off. No weathering on either one because I just wanted to finish them.

Overall, I like how the Hasegawa F/A-18F turned out better than the Revell F/A-18E, although it costs a lot more. The dropped flaps on the F look really nice, and are so much more accurate as this is how they really look when everything is turned off.

Best thing about these two builds (except of course being finished!) was finally building a couple of aircraft that I saw all the time when I was deployed on board USS NIMITZ in 2007 and 2008!

Very very very nice looking Hornets! I have always like USN color birds, squadron leaders right?

Thanks, they are the leader birds for the commander of the entire air group on the carrier. They are among the few aircraft on the carrier that have any color besides grey on them!

Ah I see, well I was almost right! They definitely provide a nicer subject then a plain gray hornet.

Nice job on the F model. I have a friend who did that kit in VFA-103 markings and has it on this carrier deck diorama like it's about to take off (he even did some work to make the front gear look compressed and was able to get steam to come from the track).
