Description Assalaamu alaikum[peace be to you],

Our world is a very strange place. while some children in some places of this world get upset when they don't get their favorite chocolate candy or favorite transformer toys, there are some children who, sadly, don't even get old dry bread to eat and a sip of clean water to drink!
can we really eat our food and enjoy eating it while knowing that there are some people out there who have never tasted such delicious food and that we are partly to blame for their situation? yes, we are all to blame for what's happening in Somalia and other parts of this world where people are starving and dying of hunger.
maybe you are wondering why we are to blame? that's because we sit and do nothing. we watch what's happening there. with our lips, we say we feel sad for them. but after 5 minutes most of us are watching our funny tv shows and laugh forgetting all about the suffering of these people.

Allah[God] provided food and wealth for all people of the world. when some of the people don't get any, it's because others took more than their share.
God is testing us through these poor people. the Children who die of hunger will go to heaven and enjoy a happy life in the hereafter. but we, the ones who enjoy our life to the fullest now forgetting our responsibilities and duties will certainly give account to God for our mistakes. and it won't be a pleasant account.

we should always remember that this life is a life of test. we shouldn't forget that. we shouldn't forget our responsibilities as caretakers of Earth. and we certainly shouldn't forget the day we will meet our creator and give account for all what we do.

Mohammed, The Messenger of God -peace be upon him- said: "God, the Almighty and Exalted, will say on the Day of judgement: 'O Son of Adam, I was ill and you did not visit Me.'
The man will say: 'O Lord, how could I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?'
He will say, 'Do you not know that My servant[*] so-and-so was ill and you did not visit him? Do you not know that if you had visited him, you would have found Me with him? O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you did not feed Me?
He will say, 'O Lord, how could I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds?'
He will say, 'Do you not know that My servant so-and-so asked you for food and you did not feed him? Do you not know that if you had fed him, you would have found that with Me. O son of Adam, I asked you for water and you did not give it to Me.'
He will say, 'O Lord, how could I give You water when You are the Lord of the worlds?'
He will say, 'My servant so-and-so asked you for water and you did not give it to him. Do you not know that if you had given him water, you would have found that with Me?'"
* servant : Muslims believe that all creatures of God [including human] are servants of God and God is the Master of the worlds.

The Messenger of God -peace be upon him- also said "Those who are merciful will be given mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy on you."

the Children of Somalia are calling. don't close your ears or pretend you don't hear...

Hearing what's happening in Somalia because of the famine makes the heart ache. may Allah help our brothers and sisters there and bring them ease and have mercy on them.
I know it's a sad subject. but I hope you like this drawing.

Wassalaamu alaikum

Some people from other countries complained that we didn't give enough to the children in need in Somalia and other countries. But the fact is, that when we sent a lot of food and money, the military had taken them for themselves.

The military had taken food and money that was originally going to the children and adults in need.
I always try to donate whenever I can, but many people in Sweden who aren't in need of begging for money does it anyway, because we're too kind. We still send money and food, though and always tries to help. But latley, that trust and kindness has been abused.
I don't blame people who doesn't give money in my country, because many people have been abuse. And I've been there.

I and my family is always short on money because of dept and low wages at both my parents work. One day, I gave some money to a woman who begged for it. She had a sign saying that her parents were dead and that her brothers/sister were in need ot help. So, of course, I gave her some money. I always love to see people be happy and the fact that I helped them to a better life. But when I walked back to the same location after a while, I saw her swapping the sign with another guy. I felt used. Sadly, this happens a lot were I come from. Sometimes, we see vans drive by with a lot of people.

Right now, my Mom support a group of homeless children in Brazil, who gets murdered by the police because they see no use in them. Both me and my Mom aren't religious, but tΒ΄just because you don't identify with a religion, doesn't mean you don't know what's right and wrong. Many people on YouTube are giving a LOT of money to charity.
Both me and my Mother knows that people in these countries are having it pretty bad and we do everything to support them. When I grow up and get a lot of money, I will indeed give money to charitys.

No noses has always made me feel a picture is off. Not a critique as a personal thing. Anyways,on the art itself I would have to say that while the ribs and such were good, the angle of the picture made the shoulders look a little broad rather than sunken in. The arms are more of the issue, look bulky rather than emaciated. I think it's probably just the way we are looking down and the angles of everything else are mixed. Or I might be totally off my rocker. Who knows.Β

they say it's jackpot to born country wealth country. and jackpot winners have never had to share their wealth to others. so neither do I.
anyway, there is over 7 billion peoples in the world. death is only way to slow down over-population that spread in poor countries.
I do not give them food so that someone can live and make more kids that need our help.

I do not enjoy to see children die in hunger, but I neither can't enjoy to see over population in these places and their need for more and more help.
cold logical thinking, one effect leads to another even bigger problem.

hUnger is the worst tragedy of all natural diasters. With tsunamis, earthquakes and such the whole world is ready, but when it is people starving, the answer is that they should have fewer children. The help goes to corrupt people, we should help our own etc. When we don't help in hunger situations, then we don't respect their right to even exist. Hunger is the result of the greatest egoism known to mankind.

No, for what we have.

Have you ever heard the saying?

"Don't take anything for granted. You don't know what you have until you lose it."

God has given us everything, the clean oxygen we breathe is because God has provided us with it. The food, the clothes, the shelter, the family, the knowledge and wisdom, our senses, such as our sight and scent. Our strength, our abilities. Every single thing that we humans have and are able to do, are blessings from God. If for example, you wake up the next day and you can't walk, or you cannot see, cannot stand up, cannot think, cannot breathe, you lost these blessings!

That's why we should always thank God for everything He has given us, no matter what type of condition we are in, there's always somebody out there who has it worse than us.

And every single human should pray to God to grant them more blessings, because this is part of God's nature, to provide and to give. God is the one who gives, we are the ones that receive, this is life.

And I have to disagree with you, a few simple words in a prayer can feed the world. But the question arises, are you going to say them?

And I would like to start with Somalia, and I have inherited Naruto's Will of Fire and I will NEVER GIVE UP and WILL NOT STOP EVER! UNTIL MY GOAL IS COMPLETE!!! 74% of the relief effort is complete as I last looked. But I will do almost Whatever it takes to bring PEACE AND EQUALITY to Somalia. I believe in Capitalism but I believe people like civilians and the pirates should get an equal share of their payment and donate most of it to charity. AND I SWEAR EVEN IF IT COSTS MY LIFE I WILL BRING PEACE TO SOMALIA BEFORE I DIE!

HEY! I've read Jay Bahadur's book and Somali villages aren't like the bustling party places with modern conveniences the media says they have, but they're poor people villages and I feel sorry for them, truly. All the male pirates blow their money on is cars, women and khat, a plant drug they chew or put in their tea that either makes them talkative or sexually crazy, it's sad really that they don't donate much to charity. Believe me I want to help them in their time of need, but I don't know how is all. My Dad goes to a website that works like the Heifer project by giving loans to people to help them in their time of need and they pay it back, only problem is, people from Somalia aren't an option. Even if my Dad and myself included wanted to help the people, we don't really trust the pirate and Al-Shabaab people that do horrible things to those that even try to help them. For three examples a group of pirates killed a couple that were touring the world on their yacht giving out Bibles and the pirates killed them in cold blood. Example #2, on Tuesday Oct. 4, 2011 Al-Shabaab took credit for a car bombing in the capital of Mogadishu that killed 100 innocent people and injured over 110 more innocent people that were just minding their own business trying to get on with their lives then, BANG! Death and destruction all around! Finally example #3, just recently while I was in Australia for my family's Xmas break, my Father learned on the news that Somali Pirates killed two doctors, that is LOW MAN! EVEN FOR PUNTLAND PIRATES! So there you have it. I know not ALL of Somalia's people have turned to terrorism or piracy, they just want some help is all. But with those uber violent pirates and raving psychotic Al-Shabaab terrorists, they're futzing up every effort to try and help the poor people that didn't choose to turn to crime to get the help they must have. And for your information I believe in the Naruto politics about war and peace, and if there's one person in the real world that had a hard life maybe even harder than the Knuckle-headed ninja is the former Skinhead Frank Meeink. That's right, you heard me, he was a SKINHEAD, a neo-Nazi from southern Philadelphia. His life came into existence when his drunk Italian dad knocked up an Irish teenage girl under 18 and he has lived a life of abuse from his step-dad, drugs, violence from beating up blacks, Hispanics and Jews, multiple years in prison, getting beat up by his own skinhead friends and nearly committing suicide, YOU THINK THE SOMALIS ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE LIVED A MISERABLE LIFE UNDER THE SIAD BARRE REGIME AND RESORTING TO CRIME AND VIOLENCE TO GET WHAT THEY WANT?! 'CAUSE FRANK MEEINK SURE HAS LIVED THE WORST LIFE ANYONE COULD EVER LIVE! You don't believe me, read the book Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead. This guy is the real deal! He has lived an unspeakably horrible life, but he's changing his life by traveling across America telling his life story to people everywhere to make them think twice about cruelty and racism and to make their lives even better than they should be. If you don't believe a white guy like Frank could bring peace to Africa, the former Warlord General Butt Naked who is a religious man who claimed to talk to Satan regularly, he led his troops into battle Ass-naked with the exception of shoes and guns in the 1st Liberian Civil War, before going into battle he'd get his troops hocked up on alcohol, drugs and sacrifice human children even cutting out their hearts, chopping them to bits and eating them. But the General one day saw the love and truth of Jesus Christ and has seen the error of his ways. He's traveling across Africa to make a change for the lives of other people, make them see that by making the right choices, Africa can be brought to a golden age of peace, freedom and brotherly love. Heck, he's even expressed willingness to be tried for his war crimes. Because in Frank's and the General's viewpoint in the current stages of their lives, nobody's considered evil or inferior by the way they look, they're only judged by their choices and how they act when they make those choices. Are you a criminal or a good citizen? Do you want to think guy's like me don't understand how bad people's lives can be? Or like Frank and the General, can you find a way to use your life's experiences to convince other people to make a better change for the world? A wise man once said everyone whether they did bad things that are minor or major, they deserve an opportunity for redemption, Frank and the General are doing everything they can to earn their redemption as we speak, but without the hope of redeeming themselves, they would've remained a Skinhead and a crazy general that performed human sacrifice, without their influence, the world may never achieve lasting peace. Enough said.

Sorry about that crack about Allah, but the truth is I'm an atheist. I don't believe in God, or heaven or hell. I do believe in alternate universes, I die in this one, I'm born in another. Second I believe in the philosophies of the author and writer Christopher Hitchens. He's a critic, an atheist and he has a witty sense of humor when it comes to criticizing people, just to name a few, Bill and Hilary Clinton as rapists, Bush as an idiot and something I forget about Princess Diana the one who died a few years ago. Don't hold this against me if you do but I have 2 Jewish friends and I've been to a bar mitzvah and it was interesting. All I know about Jews and Muslims is they've been at their throats for millenniums either it's something very complicated that I don't understand or it's too old and hardly anyone remembers why or it's something stupidly simple like "You stepped on my foot, infidel!" The reason I don't believe in religion because it makes people blind and ignorant to the truths of science and morality, for example Darwin's theory of evolution and equal rights for all races (Which I strongly believe in). I don't pretend to know everything but my Asperger Syndrome intense interests pushes me to try to know everything. Unless I see an Islamic person and get to know them or their customs I can't get any closer to achieving my dream of world peace and understanding. If you can tell me the parts of Islamic culture and customs I'd be glad to hear them.

Here's a plan.
Full scale invasion, made up of a coalition of Arabic League and NATO members, secure major infrastructure and civilian centers and launch surgical strikes at major military and insurgent positions. Once troops are on the ground landing sites are cleared for UN WHO and other humanitarian aid groups, with specific interest on supply drops. Coalition forces spend the majority of their time securing ways in and out of the cities while clearing areas for agricultural development. Most of the administrative work would be conducted by Arab League members to facilitate a smooth relationship between local Somalis and occupying forces. NATO would provide primarily Naval, Air, and Special Forces support (CIA, Delta Force, SAS, etc.) for transporting goods, protecting supply routes and targeting insurgent positions. Arab League forces would focus on overseeing UN humanitarian efforts as well as working with local leaders to rebuild agricultural supplies and restore order. Total occupation time... 10 to 20 years.

"ts easy to point out how bad it is in places like Somalia, the hard part is actually doing something about it."
I believe that knowing the disease is the first step in trying to cure it.
rising consciousness and awareness is never harmful. and even if it doesn't solve the problem in a short term, it may lead to solve it in a long term. at least this is the only thing I can do to help since I have no power nor money... T___T

Knowing the disease isn't enough, because the disease is basically perpetuating itself at this point. Want (specifically hunger); leads to conflict over food, which ultimately puts the food in the hands of a few, which leads to more conflict, and so on and so forth. A new factor must be added to the equation.

Fair enough. I'm versed in foreign policy and engineering so I look at things from a "how can I solve the problem," perspective. You're more about, "how can I get enough people aware of the problem so that we can begin to solve it." Two sides of the same coin.

Nayzak In reply to YNot1989 [2011-10-09 01:51:43 +0000 UTC]

yep. because while many answers I could find for the "how can I solve the problem?" may be theoretically good but practically they are either impossible or need a lot of other non-available factors to be doable.
while "how can I get more people aware?" is easy. in any community, when you contribute more for a certain cause, you will get people aware of it.
now whether they are ready and willing to do something or not is another problem...
