Thanks for this meaningful and informative critique. I shot this photo through glass with the widest aperture (f/4.8) available and the shortest possible shutter speed (1/400 s) with an ISO pushed to 2800. The out-of-focus leaves are due to a shallow depth of field centering on the fish. I have NOT added them after the fact. The highlights are blown alright, but I can live with that, because the light also provided illumination of the fish.

Beautiful shot of one of the the most horrible creatures in the sea.
They are an ecological disaster!
Glad to see that it's in an aquarium!

I'm aware of that! It seems to have invaded the very beaches I love to visit (FL, USA) and other regions. Thanks for pointing it out again.
But it is a beautiful fish, hehe.

Thanks, Robert. I'm obviously pleased, but I would have been even more ecstatic if one of my cat photos would have received one! That means, I have to get better at that, or what...

Awesome! I have a long history with one of these buggers. Worked an entire day with its poison in my body. What a day.

Really beautiful, especially considering that you had to take this without flash and I know it's a bit darker in such places. The result is amazing.
Sincerely
