Post-infection:: Attacks only when he thinks he has the best advantage possible. Easily beaten into submission. A couple of bullets, even if they miss, send him running. Will stalk the same victim for days just so that he can get the best advantage. Refuses to give up if one gets away. Very tenacious but cautious.

The band is ... was ... Psyclon Nine. They broke up last year because of the lead singer having drug issues and not sending fans the merchandise.

Don't worry this happen to the best of us. What I find that helps me is to write down ANY AND ALL ideas that come to me about the story or related ideas. Also it helps to have several people you can ask for ideas who aren't just interested in someone hooking up in the story. Drawing your character's anatomy and in different positions helps as well (well for me any way). I also find it helpful to write random little stories about the different characters to help with character development. A lot of times the reason I can't finish a chapter is because I just can't think of how the individual characters would react to a situation. My Hunter character Boie would react to a Tank attack differently than my survivor character Kyle due to personality traits and different experiences in life before and after the out break.
Any way that's off topic. Sometimes completely restarting the chapter and going at it in a similar or different direction is helpful too. Re-reading the entire story is always helpful. It helps you pick up on things you may have missed or could help with how things have developed into that situation (hopefully you won't have a complete freak out like I did and restart the ENTIRE thing). Also reading other stories and fanfictions is helpful (just don't steal ideas, lol). Plus playing the game until something sparks is a great tip too. You must keep your interest in the game/book/movie/show alive if you want your fanfic to work. I've had to trash quite a few fanfics because of my loose of interest, resulting in death threats from a friend of mine who loves my work...
Also check out the Left 4 Dead Wiki and read up on the infected and survivors. A lot of inspiration is hidden with in those walls. Classical music and wordless Techno music helps me as well. Putting your characters into the stories that the melodies portray always helps me when I'm in a pickle. But if you aren't into those genera, try finding karaoke of your favorite songs. Any wordless music will help. It lets the imagination run free and find it's own ideas.
But the number one thing I find that helps me to get ideas is... ROLE PLAY! Yes I said it! I know it's completely geeky (which I am proud of 
Wow that was a lot more than I planned on writing but I hope these help ^^. I'm not sure of the effectiveness of these seeing as I'm still and extreme amature, but anything to help and aspiring a fellow writer.

Yeah, I could see where it'd be easier. I have both L4D games for PC, but no internet, so no vs or scavenge or anything... And I've got L4D2 for the Xbox 360.
My fiance can bounce around like a Hunter very convincingly irl, though. He used to be an aggressive inline skater, so... he can move, and climb, etc.
