Description Journal Entry: 3/12/2056

"Mammal-like" flora that is found all over Fyoria VI. They are native to arid environment however, their smaller counterparts can be found in grassy plain or woodland, as well for shallow water area.

I spotted this one day when I was traveling across great desert, it previously propagated a juvenile wind tree approximately a week old. My colleague, Dr. Terzak explained to me that this species is actually a flora however inner structure evolved to soft fibrous structure which resemble animal muscle and flesh in almost identical way.

This species process carbon exchange which is 2,000 time effective than Earth's plants. Thanks to it's unique designed carbon exchange system, it is able to quickly covert carbon into oxygen. They still depends on chlorophyll at same time.

Journal Entry: 5/7/2067

I brought this drawing back to Earth and showed to World Leaders to recommend for this creature to be introduced to our environment to assist with our ever growing global warming issue. Needless to say, this has caused huge controversy among the panel.

The head scientists claimed that by introducing foreign lifeforms, it would have huge impact on our diminished ecology. Dr. Terzak spoke valiantly that day and succeed in convincing them to introduce a small number of Wind Trees to Sonoran and Sahara desert.

Journal Entry: 7/23/2087

Now it has been 20 years. It has been a smashing success so far with wind trees we introduced in 2067. They were easy to manage because they only produce offshoot once every 10 years. Offshoot tend to roll away from parent tree by wind once after it is "born." They are strictly asexual specie. Their number had grew from 100 to approx 500, still no evidence of impact on environment and it actually seems to bring back life to desert area.

Thank to those guys, our global warming crisis has went down considerably.

very neat.

though I'd be afraid of standing next to it - looks like its about to bend over and gobble up somebody.

Yeah, I would imagine it will be catastrophic if it actually fell on anyone standing under it. It's 40 ft high and maybe weight over 8 tons!

Wow. This looks like a pretty interesting tree, would the outer surface of the tree be green due to chlorophyll, or is it a different colour that absorbs more light, with the carbon exchange stages of photosynthesis occuring on the inner surfaces?

also, I may have faved this in the group folder, please don't get mad.

Thanks- I visualized it as light green with gray hue. Around the edge of "wind chamber," it is intense green like evergreen. Roots are dark gray with brown overlay. There was supposed to be tan/brown stripes like tiger on the main body beside the chambers, that will come in later on. I would have to build up my skills with PS then color this guy when I'm confident.

What did you mean by fave it in the group folder? I don't mind you favorite any of my works. That make me happy knowing people appreciate my work and creativity

I came across this in the Speculative evolution group folders but wasn't sure whether I traced it back to the original artist before adding it to favorites as Some user groups make a point of faving the work on the original artist's page.

If it did get back to you then I'm glad for it.

..."mammal-like"?
...I really want to know how a plant is mammal-like!

Plant share similar character of circulatory system as mammal with small expectation of heart. However, for the plant- it's mostly for hydrating the cells and nourish the cells with nutrient/mineral, too. In this case, the tree had evolved for more flexible flesh which allow for them to bend from wind to harvest their power and the same for carbon. So the internal structure is no longer rigid like in trunk of conifer or deciduous tree, they're soft like you would notice from a slice of beef as an example. Increase elasticity of flesh also allow for them to expand and constrict as the wind pass through the "nozzles" so to speak, "breath." The fiber of structure changed from tight woven thin strands to loosely woven thick strands which resemble the muscle in many way.

Oh. I thought, for a second there, it was all the features of mammals, including live birth and mammary glands.

Heh, that'll be very interesting to see tree having breasts. Certainly gave me a good idea for my next drawing. Just flesh and muscle for those guys

Maybe more of a Cow-tree. Udders seem more accurate than outright boobies.

That's a very good question Most of time, I just let my sub-conscious take over and control my hand. Then my conscious would try to explain what was being produced by sub. Weird, heheh.

Lol, just draw a random blob and let your imagination kick in then fill it in with detail, textures, and shades. After that, tell a story about it, that's what make your artwork comes to life. That's pretty much what I do

Heh, it takes some imagination You can draw something with basic structures, like "bubble man" or stick figure and fill in with details.
