From upcoming season 6 finale, "To Where and Back Again", Starlight leads a charge into the Changling Kingdom with Trixie, Discord, and Thorax. One by one, they get captured until Starlight was left. Chrysalis plans a grand-scale scheme to take over all of Equestria behind the scenes by replacing all the significant ponies so she and her horde can sifon off all the love energy from within the confines of their land. Starlight tries to reason with Chrysalis that the Changlings won't have to starve, using Thorax as the prime example of that since he no longer needed to absorb love energy to sustain himself ever since he started coexisting with the ponies. Chrysalis throws her words back at her, saying she doesn't care. Why? Because it is HER kingdom and SHE'S the ruler, so anything she says is law. Basically, "I can rule it however I damn well please!"

Which explains why you're such a lousy ruler, since your race hasn't progressed any lately. Tyrant...
