While I'm on a Bleach kick, I might as well draw my favorite zanpakutō
Zabimaru is awesome on every level. Its shikai is really cool, and its bankai is just plain badass. You can't argue with a giant snake. zaleraexdeath.deviantart.com/a…

Inking all of those vertebrae was a pain in the ass x_x but shading this was fun!
I swapped the flattened, miscellaneous ape skull that goes on Renji's shoulder with a proper mandrill skull, because mandrill skulls are awesome.

You know I came to the realization that although Renji is my favorite character in the series and his zanpakuto is awesome, he is the Piccolo of the show. Fights in every major fight but never wins. He never wins a single fight in the entire show. He is such a badass and then goes down like a bitch. It just is painful to watch the show at this point. Plus it does not help the fact that they cannot let any major characters die...or stay dead. Sorry, rant over. I like the picture none the less. lol

Bleach: where no one (important) dies or stays dead. Yeah, that's annoying. However, some characters did kick the bucket for good in the manga.

What fights did he win in the manga? I read it and still didn't remember him winning any on his own. I mean I am sorry but the Captain Commander is the only person they will keep dead probably. I mean Byakuya is fine, Grimmjaw is still alive...I love those characters but I feel like he just keeps writing stories where Ichigo has to get stronger(remind anybody else of DBZ syndrome?) but only after he loses all the power he gained in the previous arc and he brings people back to life if the fans get upset. It doesn't give the series a feeling like it might end soon. I pretty much only read it anymore to see more bankais. lol

I think Byakuya was meant to die, but Tite realized he was too popular(or he got a lot of hate mail) and he didn't let him stay dead.
Don't get me started on Ichigo; I hate hate hate what the story has turned into. Stuff happens to Ichigo, he doesn't do stuff anymore.
Honestly I'm only still following it because after 6+ years, I need to know how the damn thing ends.

Lol Exactly. My cousin and I each read it every week and then bitch about it to each other. And I am sorry but where is Chad and Orihime in the past 10 chapters? They showed Ishida once. I agree. I think they just need to kill off a bunch of people and then end it. Stop making irrelevant movies and filler arcs and just be done. He made enough money off the series and will continue to.

Chad and Orihime had, like, mental breakdowns due to that Tsukishima dude, no? They're probably in therapy or something.
The movies are actually extremely well animated, and I say this from an animator's point of view. Yes, the plots suck 4 out of 4, but there's no arguing that the unnecessary show off battles are pretty awesome.
The anime fillers, on the other hand, are an insult to the animators who worked on them

Exactly. When Aizen got defeated would have been the prime opportunity to end it. Big bad guy done, main character lost his powers. Awesome fight and awesome ending. I do agree the movies are very well animated. and yeah, Chad and Orihime are probably laying on some therapist's couch right now. lol

Aah, thanks! It's really fun drawing them! Maybe it's because they're so different from the stuff I usually draw, or maybe it's because I'm having a blast putting my figure drawing training into practice

I'm somewhere while they're still in Hueco Mundo, I believe. man, can't even remember all of the names or the characters (there are so many!). I've been buying/reading the actual English volumes though, and I think I'm around 33... o.e
I've heard some things about the manga going on and on into weird places though...

Yep, this looks incredibly badass! And i really like the shading, it's greenish but it also has some reddish hues? Plus backlight. And the shadow/light play really gives the pic a sense of depth!

Renji and Zabimaru are one of my favorite characters from bleach XD Although my favorite is Kenpachi, Renji still places in top 5 XD I've always liked Zabimaru, it is a very interesting concept and it has many useful attributes
I like that confident and smug expression you put on Renji's face, and as always Zabimaru is looking totally badass XD This is really awesome, I love it
