Description
An illustration for the fanfiction To Wrap an Elven Princeling, by Jael. Smaug, drawn by the mithril shirt (and smell of tasty elf-flesh) on young Legolas, is challenged by the highly irate Elvenking, who has just returned from the newly-destroyed Dale.Watercolour on sketchbook paper (which buckles horribly, but I guess it's my own fault). My second attempt at illustration of any kind.
Compared to the very glittery Smaug, everything looks a bit washed out. I guess I will have to work on balancing colour in the future.

I love this fic, and this is a great illustration. Just saw the last Hobbit movie yesterday so I'm revisiting my favorite fan universes!

Well, to learn english, my school never helped me. I learnt by myself by playing games in english ( Zoo Tycoon, Minecraft and even my Spyro ) or watching english videos. When I was younger, I watched films in english and sang english.
I advise you to do like me : you can play a lot of game in french. Accustom yourself to traduct little things, and then, why not try read a book in fench ? For the accent, try to sing or listen french videos.
And if you need something more, do not hesitate ; ask meh ^.^

i have read this fanfic and loved it but i pictured smaug larger, he is not much larger than a horse here.
And i love water colors, other then the size of the dragon it is beautiful work.

I disagree with what you said about it looking washed out. It wouldn't be watercolor unless it had the runny quality. I think it's beautiful. And I should know! I was an art major in college!

I love it.Smaug is great and I think that it is well balanced. i mean yes the eye goes mostly to Smaug and the other charactes but isn't it the idea?

have been tempted to come and look at the rest of your art. I think the background looks great; just enough to let the greens and blues balance the red of Smaug and not enough to encroach on the action.
