Description
My favorite genre has always been swords and sorcery. Like Cowboy stories and Samurai stories, people are forced to face their conflict in a very direct manner, pulling their weapon from their side to defend themselves. Magic and monsters are great to raise the stakes for heroes to overcome impossible odds. I don't know if I'll ever get to work in this genre as a professional, but I hope so. This may be my first ever drawing of a horse though, ha!Related content

Read the books years ago. I haven't watched the show because I need the season to be almost finished before I can start. It starts off so closely to the books, it's hard to sit back and actually watch it, because you know everything that's happening and spend the whole time going "it's cool what they did with that." And the books are EXCELLENT. So I need enough show to let me sink in and forget about the books.

I've never read the books, so at this point I'll just stick to watching the show. When the shows done I'll go back and read the books. Most of the time the books are always better than the shows or movies. I like the complete surprise I have with the show at this point.
And as someone earlier commented, if this is your favorite type of genre, try a creator owned book with it. Don't know if that's an intent of yours, but I'd certainly check it out.
