Imagine the priest trying to do Test of Strength...
"I offer you this combat trial."
Robot rises from the floor.
Link: "Uh, nothing's happening."
"Um, FUCK! I forgot to install the program! Hold on a sec hero."
sudo apt-get install "Combat Trials"
Reading Package Lists...
*5 minutes of installing and fixing broken dependencies later*
Link: "Are you done yet?"
"Hold on, I just installed it. Now I need to run the program."
sudo run Combat_Trial_Lvl_3.elf
Running Major Test of Strength.
"Alright, it should be working now."

Man if he'd gotten there five minutes before Link, he could have thrown a small Guardian in there, toss any weapon in the chest and called it a day.
After taking a Guardians weapons any weapon in the chest is less important.

This comic is more interesting to me now that I have played the game. I didn't know to much about what was going on before.

Don't know if it counts as a spoiler, but I have defined three different types of shrines in Breath of the Wild:
1. Puzzle Shrines
2. Combat Shrines
3. Blessing Shrines
1. Puzzle Shrines usually involve Link having to complete some sort of puzzle in order to get to the end (although some shrines can be further explored past the Sheikah monk). Usually, there are no enemies to fight in these kinds of shrines, although any enemies that do appear are Guardian Scout I's, the weakest variant of Guardian Scouts and wield no weapons.
2. Combat Shrines involve Link having to fight a Guardian Scout in order to complete the shrine. Minor Tests of Strength have Link fight a Guardian Scout II, a fairly weak type of Guardian Scout (but stronger than a Guardian Scout I) which only wields one weapon; Moderate Tests of Strength have Link fight a Guardian Scout III, a slightly stronger variant that wields two weapons, or a weapon and a shield; Major Tests of Strength have Link fight a Guardian Scout IV, a much stronger type that not only wields three weapons, but takes a lot of damage to kill, even with strong weapons. I recommend stunning Guardian Scout IV's with shock arrows and then taking out a powerful two-handed weapon and use the spin attack to take them down fairly quickly. Be sure to pick up any two-handed weapons that the Guardian Scout IV wielded if they did wield one in the event that one of yours broke.
3. Blessing Shrines usually involve Link completing a certain task outside of the shrine itself, such as placing a Sheikah Orb within its pedestal or some other Shrine Quest (usually given by the Rito musician Kass). Usually these shrines are the easiest to complete.
I hope this is not a spoiler, but if it is, , please message me and I will remove it immediately.

Actually, I'm removing that thing about no spoilers. The game's been out long enough now that I don't have any qualms with people talking about it more in depth. So, you're fine.

I remember a couple of shrines like this (Goron Rupee Climb and A Perfect Drink for example) made me question the logic of some of the sages.

Then realize that the combat program has to be executed manually, and fumble typing the commands to start it.

Funny. I absolutely loved the Wii so I'm still trying to decide whether to get a Switch or a Wii U. I know the latter has been discontinued but there are about 15 games on it I would love to play while the Switch only has about two. I hope it gets better support but I am doubtful.

Wii U's are probably cheaper now that the Switch is out. The only version difference is a few extra frame drops in U, but nothing gamebreaking from what I've experienced. You could also transfer your data from Wii to U, then sell the old thing and make an extra buck or two back. You can still play all your old games and use all your old controllers. In your shoes, I'd say the Wii U is the way to go if you're tight on cash. If not, maybe get a Switch. There'll be PLENTY of great games coming down the line if this phenomenal launch year is any indication.

I wonder about two options:
- did the ghost/spirit/priest/something forget to put something in the chest?
- someone came earlier and took it?

It's the first one. The joke is that he was not prepared and even forgot to put something in the treasure chest.
