Description Ohh man it's been a while since I've made an Art. I was a little afraid its been so long I would forget how to draw XD; My fingies have been itching to art something for a while now but all of my creative efforts have been funneled through writing lately haha

This is Nicolas, my cherub angel that guards (a section of) the library of knowledge in Heaven. Any knowledge that was feasibly comprehensible for humans he almost always had at his fingertips. As a cherub, he was a member of the 2nd highest tier of angel under seraphim– making him an angel that’s not just powerful and a member of some of the oldest living angels, but very loyal and unlikely to Fall. Before the library, he was stationed to guard the gates of Eden (with a flamed greatsword). Nevertheless, Nicolas has always had a great fondness and gentleness for humans and earthly things. The human experience fascinated him– the capacity to discover knowledge without it being handed to you is in its own way a very exciting blessing, and he doesn’t often get surprises.

This was part of an exercise on what would it take for Nicolas to Fall. After writing a very painful sequence with  it was discovered yep, there would be at least one thing he’d Fall for. Pictured is an event after he sacrificed his grace and betrayed Him so that his unborn daughter could survive. He circumvented knowledge he wasn’t ‘allowed’ to see, and he fell very violently. Because the mind of a cherub is not built to Fall gracefully.

He’s always had a liking for piano because it brings him peace by reminding him of 'home’. After the Fall, he turned to playing piano in hopes it could bring him some solace in the darkest time of his life.

Except the ability to play piano was a borrowed talent and once he fell, that was taken away from him as well.

Some music that inspired this piece:

Knockin' On Heaven's Door- Piano

Kaleo-Way Down We Go

Nathan Wagner- Innocence

This makes me wonder: is it possible for people like him to relearn borrowed talents they lost in the fall?

This is a beautiful picture; it tells so much, yet creates so many questions, which your description answered in an intriguing way.

That was beautiful! Thanks for sharing it. You really know how to poignantly convey how much he has lost and how badly that hurts, both through your writing and through the eloquent facial expressions and body language in your art, while also vividly showing the reader why he feels it was worth the loss.

I can see how the loss of his piano skills would be painfully symbolic, yet at the same time, now I'm picturing him relearning them alongside his daughter while she learns how to play for the first time, and it's SO WONDERFUL!

On a more comedic note, I can also see him holding baby Sera up and gazing into her eyes.
Nicholas: "You're what makes it all worth it."
Sera: *Gives him a big, toothless smile, then spits up on his shirt*
