Description Ok final shot of Corfe Castle in Wareham, Dorset, UK.

I have others but I don't like them as much as the four I've already submitted.

This is how the scene appeared when I reached the top of the west hill at Corfe Castle. The pre dawn colours in the sky just catching the thick fog 'cloud' behind the castle ruins really made this shot for me.

I just have to point out that that really is fog to the right of castle that cust into the skyline. REALLY heavy flowing fog Love it.

If this shot looks two dark in the cold tones at the bottom could someone let me know plz. Altough my monitors are calibrated I just want to make doubly sure.

EDIT: Dammit my camera clocks wrong by an hour lol

Hi 17exter

Thanks for your interest. Sadly I have to decline your request. The resolution I upload at is insufficient for video use, and I don't give out hi-resolution files.

Good luck with the video!

Cheers.

This is a mystical image; it looks like a scene from a fantasy novel. The fog almost looks more like running silk.

not as early as I usually do during the summer. I'm always in place at least an hour before sunrise, and corfe is an hours drive from home for me with no traffic on the roads

During summer i'm usually out the door at 2-3am, in place for sunrise 100miles away at 4 am, then back to work for 9, then out the door at 5pm for sunset somewhere at 10ish and back home to crash lol.

I use photoshop but only for minor tweaks. I don't do heavy post processing if I can avoid it. This shot is pretty much straight from camera.

glad you like it.

Truly excellent. Composition, colours, everything. Perfect. An amazing shot, indeed. Did you touch it at all in Photoshop?

Also, could you shed some light on ND Grad filters? I looked up the Lee set you use (or tried to), but got stuck at Resin vs. Polyester. And the sheer number of products they sell. know of any reasonably cheap sets available in the states?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neutron2K In reply to K00PA-TR00PA [2010-01-28 10:18:46 +0000 UTC]

Cheap filters are really not worth the money if your going into it properly. They can cause bad colour casts across the image and scratch very easily meaning you end up replacing lots and the money would be better spent on lees.

Lee do resin and glass filters. Glass are more expensive and more hard waring. I use the resin filters which are still bloody expensive but are also hard waring and don't scratch easily.

No photoshop work done on this image except slight curves adjustment

Well, honestly I'm only 15, so I have not a lot to spend on these. Would blending two exposures just be better for me?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Neutron2K In reply to K00PA-TR00PA [2010-02-04 09:44:16 +0000 UTC]

Never realised you were only 15 mate. Filters (in my eyes) are the best way to go because they keep it more 'photography' oriented rather than 'post processing' but layer blending is common place even when filters are used. I still have to do it with certain shots where the sun is in the frame - not amount of ND can hold that much back without causing a black sky lol.

Yeah get used to layer blending and then save for the lee set.
