Description As I have mentioned before It is really difficult to crochet a polished stone into a fiber rather than wire. That being said this was such a nicely shaped disk of rose quartz, very even, that I was able to crochet it into a fun, glittery pink metallic fiber. You can't really see the glitter here but trust me, this stuff is as glittery as a unicorn tail. And just the right color to go with the stone. I've accented the chain with pearlized glass beads for even more sparkle; I thought about also putting beads around the edge of the stone itself but then I thought that was just too much. I really like the way it turned out, though. Last of my pink phase for now, I promise

My original OOAK design, copyright me 2013. Polished rose quartz crocheted into metallic polyester-mylar fiber and accented with pearlized glass beads; silver clasp.

This is quite lovely! If you make another you might want to use a yarn a shade darker or one a bit lighter to highlight the color of the stone.

Thank you! In fact I am doing that right now, using a different, darker metallic. You have to be very careful with rose quartz, though, because the color is quite delicate and using too dark a fiber can leach color from the stone and make it look like plain quartz. I have also used a white satin rayon with a rose quartz stone [link] ? which worked out very nicely.

Thank you. I like it better than the darker one, so far -- in fact I may rip that one out AGAIN...

That's always the way. I'm learning lace knitting right now....very frustrating.
