Description Two soldgers under fire carry a wounded comrade between them. Locking hands to create a sling to support him.

A shattered moment as seen through heat distorted glass. The air is full of white hot steel and sulfur.

A splinter of a heroic act during a horrible bloody mess.

A glass distortion effect without the use of a photoshop filter.

0.5 art pen

mmmm... is it political? that is a very profound question

All Human acts have a political context. The decision 'not to act' has holistic implications.

'All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing' Edmund Burke

You cannot have a 'non-political' act.

All acts involve a transformation of energy. Energy is a resource. The allocation of resources is a political act of discrimination. If you do anything at all, something else cannot be done as a direct result.

More directly - What isn't political about the subject of armed conflict.

A political image does not have to be overt propaganda or satire etc

eg Picasso's Gurnica is probably one of the most important 'political' works of the 20th century, but on close inspection the image is a simple and profetic lament of the horrors of modern total war

Wow. This picture seriously kicks ass. Just the fact that you'd go through with making a picture as seen through some type of distortion (glass in this case) without photoshoping it is pretty cool. And you did a really awesome job at it, which makes it that much cooler.

Sometimes the easy ways can inspire new chalenges

Distortion of body - distortion of perception under stress - just all screeming heat.

Surrealism was born in the bloody mud of the western front in world war one.

There is nothing fantastic about post traumatic stress disorder. It is all very real. Timeless and forever - sadly.

by the way 'Dawn' reminds me very strongly of William Blake - beautiful
