The reference for the pose I used had a lot of black clothing in soft lighting ( and a lot of hair ) so I probably did miss a lot of the shoulder movement when I worked it into the sketch ( and later the lines ) It probably, also, doesn't help that I put a shadow under the chin/jaw without shading the face in this image xD
I'll try to get as much of that missing movement remedied when I add the background/shading and final tweaks in PS ( sai doesn't have a perspective or warp adjustment or I'd do it now P: )

And I checked out the pose reference - I totally see what you mean; its not easy to tell, and the hair does get in the way a bit XD Given what you were working with, you did really well, actually 
Haha, that's very true. I love designing, but I have too much else to do right now, so Mosswood references will have to wait. I want to redo the Lakewood ones as it is; they're so old and awful that it's painful

Starting over with your characters? How do you manage? I've had the same core group at Lakewood since it started in 2011. Its just this year I'm sorting out a bit of a facelift to show off the development of the Farm itself, but the characters are all the same. I couldn't keep starting over XD - I'd miss them

You don't technically need a separate story for them. Mosswood has a backstory, but with Lakewood, its just a group of friends and the stories are in the day-to-day hijinks more than anything. But if you want a story, maybe think one of them up first, then create the characters to fit, if you're having issues the other way

lol i love stories and rp and I have a few that I want to weave together but never got around to. I'm gonna probably sort that out while getting everything transferred to my new templates and go with that. It was much easier to start with the story when i had one years ago xD

Do you know what gender the hooded brindle is going to be? Kinda looks like a sweet old man to me in this but such a cutie! I think it's just the gray on his ears. My dog in real life went from mostly black to mostly gray when she turned 6 months old and now everyone always thinks she's a senior, but she's only two!
