A design I made for a contest on Lioden. I'm still dealing with a horrible art rot and in the past few months it actually hit its worst, deepest point because now I practically can't draw anything anymore, at least not past the sketch stage(and even then I never manage to finish my sketches), hence how dead I've been on DA. With this I recently have been trying to work on contest entries to see if the motivation can help me fight this rot... I struggled a LOT with this design and it certainly was not a very enjoyable experience, but it's... something... I guess?The concept behind the design is that this is a mythical, dragon-like creature with iridescent speckles all over its fur. It would wander in closed forests exclusively at night, which therefore started various legends in the region it inhabits. In one of them the creature would be known as the "star bearer" due to the iridescent speckles, basically a spirit that comes down to Earth every night to pick up fallen stars and carry them back to the sky, where they belong. It was a random idea, but I'm quite fond of it.
Oh well, either way, I hope you enjoy it and sorry for the inactivity.

He's so pretty! If you put my girl Somatra with him they'd be an interesting combo, with the starry theme and all. (Really need to develope her character more been too long.) Glad to see you're still alive and well, if it wasn't for the nasty case of art block. Don't worry though, I haven't drawn in 2-3 years? Now I'm starting art classes for college and will be forced to dwell back in. Sometimes you need time to let things go and then revisit them later. I give you my hopes and prayers art will come back and you'll be creating all kinds of things again! Until then, nice to see this as a reminder you're still here.

Oh, I love my dragon girl! She's basically taken over the role of my fursona, until I either make a design that fits me or give up. Someday I'd love to have more art by you of her, maybe come up with a design for her mate as well. Always thinking of ideas to help bring her story to life. X3
I understand completely! Art and writing were always my emotional outlet, so when they're gone it's damaging. Over the last few years I've noticed a significant change in attitudes for me and it's not something I like. I guess that's why I'm pushing myself to take art classes, in hopes I will enjoy the medium again and find my passion. Whatever works for you Night, you'll find your spark again. Sometimes it just takes time, no matter the consequences. :/

Awww. Wow has it really been that long? You seemed to have a time where you'd draw every day, it didn't feel like 4 years ago X3 I wish I knew like some sort of secret to help you out, but I don't.

Yeah it started in late 2012(in fact if you check my gallery you'll notice that this was the point my submissions slowed down). While I still managed to draw regularly you might remember that I was going through a style crisis back then, I was no longer happy with my style and constantly tried to figure out a new one. In the end I did, however the block didn't leave and only grew more and more. It's not just a bock, it's a whole bad phase that refuses to leave me alone, there isn't really a solution for it besides waiting ¬¬'.
