Charlie took off the tack he had on Red and let him be with Mama T as the eggs started to hatch. Emily went with him to let the family be in peace. Mama T nuzzled Red and he laid down in front of her, their eyes on the cracking egg. "Oh, Red," Mama T said quietly, her heart pounding. "I don't think I've ever been this excited before!"

"Me either," he said, a rumble escaping him. He looked at Mama T and said, "Thank you..."

Mama T looked up as well and they looked in each other's eyes before nuzzling gently. "You goofball," she said, laughing.

Red smiled but he jerked his head in surprise when the top of the egg flew off and hit his nose. Mama T glanced down at her egg and saw a little brown head peek out from the top. The baby Tyrannadon squeaked and chittered, it's eyes closed as it adjusted to the bright light of the sun. Red lifted his tail to block the sun from his child's eyes.

"She's beautiful," Mama said, lowering her head and licking the baby's face. Immediately the baby smiled and squeaked more, and she opened her eyes. Mama T and Red gasped as their daughter's bright blue eyes gazed up at her parents. "Hello, BlueEyes," Mama said, nuzzling the baby.

BlueEyes squeaked happily and tried to climb out, but only rolled the egg onto it's side, and she had to crawl out. Her coat was a beautiful chocolate colour. Red licked his daughter and BlueEyes squeaked again, tumbling as she tried to stand and bumped into the second egg. Mama T laughed and nudged her daughter steady onto her feet with her nose. "There, little one," she said gently. BlueEyes threw out her tiny arms as she steadied herself again, her tail curling close to herself.

Mama T turned her attention to the second egg, which had yet to move. She pulled it closer to her nose and breathed on it gently. Red eyed it as well, but kept his main attention on BlueEyes. She stumbled every few steps but never fell. Soon enough she was able to walk far enough that she didn't fall.

Red heard Mama T grumble and he looked over to see her nudging the egg slightly. "Mama, it'll hatch. It's just a little more delayed. It happens all the time." BlueEyes giggled from a distance and when Red looked back at her, she was running away in the middle of the field. "Oh for the love of Tyra-- BLUEEYES!" he cried out, standing to go get his daughter. BlueEyes wouldn't get caught so easily, so they played chase and Red introduced her to the other stable animals while Mama T stayed with the remaining egg.

But no matter what Mama T did or how long she would wait, the egg would never hatch. She put her ear to it but heard nothing. No sound, no heartbeat, no scratching whatsoever. She stood up and let it sit, thinking the room to hatch would help. She nudged it, talked to it, kept it warm, but it was hopeless. Mama T soon started to let out a sad noise in her throat when she realized the truth. She lowered her head and touched the barren egg with her nose and stayed like that...

Red walked back with BlueEyes in his mouth hanging by her tail, and his face fell when he saw the distraught look in Mama T's eyes. He set BlueEyes down gently and slowly walked up to her. "Mama...?" he asked quietly. "Is... is the egg...?"

Mama T looked up at him with tears in her eyes and Red knew. His entire body sagged and Mama T and him touched noses over the barren egg. BlueEyes looked up at her parents and saw the sadness, and looked at the egg. Wouldn't her sibling hatch soon? Not knowing the reason behind their sadness, BlueEyes went up to them and nuzzled her tiny head against their noses, and Mama T kept her daughter close. At least they still had her....
