Oh. My. God. This is amazing! I love the detail, and the Newt saying fits the picture. ^_^ Poor Newt... *Cries*

I agree. The one where they cloned Ripley got cloned was lame. It ruined things. The second one is my favorite. ^_^ I loved how badass Ripley was with the queen.

Nicely done! You've selected an ideal color scheme here, and you've shown just enough without revealing too much of the Alien. Ridley Scott knew this was most effective in creating suspense. Quite often, a suggestion is sufficient, allowing our imaginations to fill in the gaps far more horrifically than anything else.
You and I are on the same page as far as the quality of the film series. It's a shame how nearly every franchise tends to shoot itself in the foot needlessly, failing to properly gauge and respect their fanbase.
I've heard the same rumors concerning the next installment. However, prequels almost invariably screw things up, especially when the filmmakers get too cute with foreshadowing, or else they undermine what we've already seen by trying to top things. Prequels must inherently refrain from being self-conscious, and that's a tough trick to pull off.
My perspective is that, with the sequels, they mistakenly placed their focus on Ripley's character. With a prequel, they may shatter what mystique that makes the Alien uniquely fascinating (the same way George Luca$ utterly ruined Darth Vader).

hey thank you very much for the kind words
this was my first trial with painter, a very short time afterwards i finished in the last 25 of the darksiders contest with another painter painting
i can actually say this was the start of something really good, i am only ashamed that i lack the will to go back to painter though
ah yes definitely,
when i mentioned the prequel i wasn't looking for something like the last two films, the first two we're spot on and the mood Ridley Scott was able to give was extraordinary, he was pointed out to direct the prequel but i feel as if it would look crappy given todays technology, the mood was only achieved because flm industry didn't had todays technology of exaggerated CG effects, so if a prequel were to be directed it would never look as the first two films, and since that is unachievable it's best to let Alien as it is, it was a mark and it will continue to be as it set a whole genre to me at least
p.s. agree with the Darth Vader all the way as well, the moment they launched STFU (star wars the force unleashed) and the whole story behind Darth Vader it just didn't felt as if it was him, he was much more grim on the final trilogy

Very cool Xenomorph!
And yeah, All thats known about them,, as you probably know is that they are bio weapons created by the Space jockey race. Its widely thought that the ship on number one and two was a bomber.
But hell yeah, love the fact its not looking directly at us. but its in that famous pose just before a strike!

wow that i didn't know o.O
then the little fog prevented their awakening right?
and the spaceship dropped the eggs like they'd drop bombs
how did it crash? and since it did some egg must have hatched because of the giant with the opening on the chest, that means there was a queen somewhere on that ship and probably some xenomorphs as well
wow thats, really creepy, i'd still like to see a prequel to that but with the graphism of the first one and second one, they just looked way way way awesomer than 3 and 4
just one things i didn't get
Space jockey race?

Space jockey's, thats the name of the giant alien's race. It may have crashed because apparently the Space Jockeys were having a civil war and it got shot down. then with its last efforts before it was chest bursted, it set up the warning. As for where the freshly bursted alien went Ive got no idea. There wasnt a queen on the ship because otherwise the ship would have been totally filled with eggs, however, there was only that one bay. Its thought that the Space jockey's actually created the entire Xenomorph race. So the egg bays would have been filled from somewhere else, possibly by a queen on say, a space jockey mothership or base.
Then again, this is all from various comics etc. Other comics contradict this information. But this is the one that makes the most sense to me.
Scary thing is, Aliens take on genetic strengths that the host has, such as the Runner alien from Alien 3, or the Predalien from the avp games and the movie (which was a queen btw) So considering the size of the Space jockey, thats one freakin big alien right there.
And i agree, alien one and Aliens are the best. 3 had a nifty alien and 4s special effects were good, but gimmie colonial marines anyday

ah yeah dang, by the size of the dude i cn almost immagine the size of the xenomorph if it was a queen since queens are usually the largest, i think the ship was self suficient when it came to eggs, i think there was a queen somewhere in some part of that huge ship, what we saw was only a small portion of it
but it was creepy as hell and its one of my fav movies alongside the second one
the second one frightened me to hell bad when i was just a kid

I know that a drone (basic xenomorph) will change into a queen if its the only one in the area.
you always love the movies that scared you as a kid. I was terrified of Jurassic park and Gremlins. Nowdays I love them
