It will only shows in DSLR. Newer and higher tech pocket camera sometimes have this feature such as Canon G12 or Nikon V1.

Nice use of basic photo rules, the F stop and Apature are something you have to know something about, i started with Film in College even tho i had used a pocket digital for my art in college and learned more in a darkroom then i ever did in photoshop.
Thier are a lot of cool tricks and effects to do with photos, here are covered some sure fire tips and show some great exapmles of them.Other things to think about in outdoor shooting are cloudy days provide a perfect natural difussion well sunny days make for a fill/spot (Fill light is a bounce or soft light, Spot is a hard sharp light like a spot light on stage). Watch if you have direct sunlight as hot spots can happen and if your background is bright well your figure is in shadow it can move the attension else where then what you intened.
Also your shutter speed can be very fun to play with a quick shutter can stop movement (Like freezeing actionof a fall or hitting a baseball) and a slow shutter speed can blur movement (like the falling of water being a painterly stroke or a red streak while a tail light of car passed by).
Another winner of a guide, great job!
