Description Guards as black as the furs of Cerberus, these gauntletesque set are dark and mysterious as spirits of warriors, as they protect the the fiercest of battle fiends. These resilient pieces protect adventurers and warriors from the monsters of shadows.

This gentleman had commissioned his single arm to be mostly black, with a black chain fist to create a clean and dashing scalemaille guard. The silver stainless steel stripe breaks up the black scales enough to show the scale layering.

Scales are all small sized scales which are stainless steel leaflets. Warriors--reinforced with light mail!? Keeps a barbaric man on his feet, with increased haste. +STRENGTH and +STAMINA are definitely stats that are augmented permanently into this dastardly set.

Stainless scales are both black brushed and silver in color. All connection rings are made of handcrafted and cut steel links that are 3/16" diameter, out of 18 gauge diameter steel.

The back of the hand has 3/16" black anodized aluminum in scales weaves into an English 4-1 weave. These sheets are connected with a clean 45 degree angle, causing this piece to lay comfortably on the back of your hand.

The slave bracelet style fingers allow for movement, and allows room if worn for cosplay or long term wear. One of the biggest asked questions is how these stay up, this set is reinforced with 14 gauge steel along each side of the inner arm, and wrapped with 22 gauge steel to keep all links in place. This makes for a tight fit, and can be laced up with paracord and/or ribbon. This shows the paracord lacing. This helps keep the form of the bracer, and makes for long-term wear. They drape over the pinky, middle, and thumb, leaving the ring finger open.

This made to order request was super fun to complete and a wonderful color scheme picked by my client through Etsy!

I have done the shoulder sleeve and strap and that took the course of a week. The link prep if you make them can take up to a week for that as well. but for the ones above they took approximately 2 days between link preo and construction

Thanks! I have a blue/silver pair that's like this but almost complete. It doesn't have a stripe but freeform color! Should be up in the next few days.

Thank you! I love these scale pieces. I've had some pretty cool clients who picked out a great pattern and I just keep tinkering with these.
Vest is next on my agenda!

This was fun!

I've been alright. Been busy with some projects and my sister got married! It was awesome. She had her blue hair and her hubby was the white ranger. A DIY style wedding too.
Other than that, just been working. How've you been girlie? Missed you too!

Aww, congrats to your sister; sounds like an awesome style lol. Glad to hear that you've been well also.

I've been fine, same as you. Just been working very hard with school, and still trying to find a job.

It's hard to find something and have it work with the schedule that you need. Not enough hours in the day to get things done sometimes.

Its a very good work and look fantastic.
If you lay a fabric, linen for example, under scales and black chain it would give your braclet an authentic look. If you wish a side from the dark age.
Its also more comfortable. Its only an idea not crit I hope you know what i mean. My englisch is not the best

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NikidaEve In reply to Rotfell [2014-07-28 12:08:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I've debated on using a liner, I'm just so clumsy with needles to sew them in. I should dabble in it and see what the outcome is

Lyingbastard [2014-07-28 07:21:31 +0000 UTC]

That looks fantastic! How long did that take you to make?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NikidaEve In reply to Lyingbastard [2014-07-28 12:07:40 +0000 UTC]

This took about 7 hours for scales, 2 for steel supports, and about 3 for the hand's chainmaille (that includes prep time for links)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lyingbastard In reply to NikidaEve [2014-07-28 14:51:33 +0000 UTC]

That's quick work. When I did my bracer in E 6-1 (14g Bright Aluminum 3/8" ID) it took me at least 20  hours, and that was simpler than what you've got there. Really exceptional.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NikidaEve In reply to Lyingbastard [2014-07-28 16:23:26 +0000 UTC]

Well those 6-1 can take a bunch of time just prepping the links. The scales cover more surface area too so I think overall it's less links used. I think 20-30 hours for a piece like that is still making good time!

Really? That's awesome! What kind of work are you doing? It's nice to getting out and riding. I need to do something to be active.

I'm alright been working on some local projects, my sister got married, and just been working on getting the house in order and in process abd getting my drivers license next month. It's been a whirlwind

I'm an installer tech now for the cable company, going in to people's houses, installing and/or troubleshooting their services. Climbing up poles and shaking my butt for monies too, while dodging squires and birds.  I heard about the wedding I hope she had a great ol' time and there was limited embarrassing moments. I'm still trying to climb out of my debt and then I'll be ready to get my self a house too. Good luck on your driving test my friend had failed hers last month and I'm helping her be more confident this week and next so she can be ready for her next try on the 12th.

NikidaEve In reply to tigerstorms [2014-08-15 23:33:29 +0000 UTC]

thats pretty steady work but those birds would be quite troublesome! The wedding was fabulous. Minimal embarrassing moments, and it was a blast. She did an amazing job and her and the hubby were quite a pair!

debt sucks to climb out of, but easy to obtain. Ugh. I wish you luck with all that so you can get your house. It takes some time, and I'm TRYING to save in case something happens but it's not as easy. I'm definitely stoked. The test is tomorrow, bright and early as to beat all the traffic that is around the driving center so hopefully it'll go smoothly. if not, i just have to take it again.

It's nice of you to help your friend. Its not fun learning later in life, but better late than never! I wish her luck and I'm sure she'll do fine the next time.

I'll need it, failed on 2 pt technicality. Dude didn't wanna fail me, but I have it next time. wide turn and not looking over my shoulder long enough when changing lanes (more of mirrors) so its all good. I'll get it in Sept.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tigerstorms In reply to NikidaEve [2014-08-20 14:04:10 +0000 UTC]

A lot of people forget about the mirrors and checking for blind spots. Mostly because if you were running you're trying to pay attention to the most important part "what's ahead of you". Once you get used to it you'll do it on instinct. One recommendation on looking over your shoulder is to not "over do it" a common mistake people have made, because if you over do it you'll turn the car in the process of looking due to how your shoulders work.

It's good to keep positive as some famous person used to say, The failures we have are pillars towards success.
