I finally arted. It's about time!
I'm very happy with how this turned out though I still think it's missing something. Looks a bit flat. OH WELL. I might get back to it at some point and discover what is wrong. But for now, it's fine.
I painted this MASSIVE. Original painting is roughly 6800 x 5000 pixels. My computer coped very well, I'm so proud.
I adore how the sign turned out. Rest of the background a little meh. But that sign. Makes me more confident I can pull off a flooded city.

This is beautifully done and the details are great. I like the background, the structures of the road, the highway and the signs are realistically done. I wonder what would happen next to the gang while they follow the way.
The water colour is also soft to look on. I have a small question about the flooded city. Was climate changes behind it, like the oceans rising way higher than thought and led to similar planet like Waterworld? If so, I would say it’d makes a lot sense. It is a fictional world of course but having serious events that caused cities being flooded makes it a lot better and closer to todays’s climate changes.
I can’t wait to see more of your characters and their journey. I’m interested to learn more.

The oceans rising wasn't due to climate change, but a mass extinction event the dolphins refer to as the day the Sun collided with the Earth, and the aftermath of that. Also Gods are involved in changing the world more dramatically. But yeah it would be kind of similar to waterworld, where the oceans are pretty high, much higher than people would expect if only the polar ice caps melted.

To be honest, I can see this happening if all the world's ice were to melt into water.
I do love how you brought out the art though. It gets the message across of what could happen in the future, but, it does so in an innocent matter.
And I don't know about mutation done unnaturally, but mutating to adapt to the environment certainly is something I can see. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if some humans adapted into actual mermaids. (And I mean the Mermaids the depicted in the Mockumentary "Mermaids: The Body found". Not The Little Mermaid.
