Clover had finally read the letter from her father. After accidentally sending it to Xavier, she asked herself if she should push herself to read it. She thought about asking Xavier, what her father wrote, since he had read it, but she figured that she had to experience it by herself.
Reading through the letter wasn’t easy at all. She felt the pain in her father’s words and his regret of leaving her. And it especially hurt her so much, that he tried everything it could, but nothing worked out. It just wasn’t meant to be. But there were a few weird things when it came to her mother. Her father didn’t explain why it didn’t work out between them. And he kept insisting, that she wasn’t a bad wyngro, but at the same time he didn’t want Clover to find her. Why shouldn’t she do that, if she lived in Wynsiph? Alma told her the same thing… Nothing made sense to her. She had to talk with somebody about this.

„Sorry again for reading the letter“, Xavier apologized and sat next to her on her bed.
„No no, don’t worry! It was my fault after all“, she quickly said, „Besides, it makes it easier to talk about it, since you already know what’s written.“
„True… So, what did you want to talk about?“
„I’m just really confused with what is going on with my mother… My father talks so much about how my mother is a generally good wyngro and really sympathetic, if you get to know her. But at the same time he doesn’t want me to visit her? And Alma told me the same. I don’t understand… I don’t expect her to want a deep bond with me, but I would like to talk to her at least once… Just out of curiosity and maybe she even knows, where my father went. I… I would like to tell him, that I’m doing fine and that I’m happy. Just so he doesn’t have to worry about me… I hope he currently doesn’t live too far away.“
„Even if he did, you could send him a letter“, Xavier proposed.
„I’m not sure, if that would end well…“, she feared.
„How come?“ 
„Because- Ah… It’s- it’s nothing!“, she said flustered and quickly moved on, „But what do you think, should I go visit my mother?“
„Well… Maybe Alma and your father are afraid, that you have high expectations and that you’ll end up really disappointed, if your mother doesn’t want to be… your mother… if you understand? But it doesn’t seem like you want that, right?“
„I mean… I’m not against it, but if she doesn’t want it, then I will respect that and not pressure her“, Clover nodded.
„Then I think, that you can visit her. How bad can it be? She is your mother after all!“
„Yeah… yeah, you’re right“, Clover smiled back at him, „Everything’s going to be fine. Thanks for the talk!“
„No problem! Is there anything else you’re worried about?“
Clover was quiet for a few seconds. She thought about asking him out for the party tomorrow. It was the last chance for that. But the she remembered how the universe had done everything in its power to stop her from doing so.
„No… I’m just excited for the party tomorrow“, she answered.
„Me too! We’re going to have a great time! You did a great job organizing and preparing everything!“
„Aw, thanks… But I couldn’t have done it without everyones help. Speaking of which, you should probably go and rest a little bit. I should do the same, this past weeks have really exhausted me…“
„I’m not that tired, but I don’t want to stop you from getting some rest.“

He jumped down from her bed and Clover accompanied him to the door. Both said goodbye to each other and said how fun the party was going to be. But after he left, Clover didn’t go relax like she had insinuated. She stood at the door and regretted, that she hadn’t asked him. Why was it that hard? How could other wyngrew ask out multiple dates and she failed three times with the same one? It was as if fate hold her back. What if this was a sign?
Maybe she wasn’t good enough for him.
Maybe she didn’t deserve him.
Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.
