Illuminated letter assignment for my design class.Sakura and Sharpie on 10"x12" illustration board
Texture added on photoshop to keep it from looking boring. =__=
And had to take a photo of it cuz my scanner is still an out of commission hot mess. DX
Inspiration from Alphonse Mucha yet again. <3
EDIT: Forgot to include it, but the purpose of this assignment was to design an illuminated letter, similar to what you'd find in medieval texts, manuscripts, bibles, etc.

This is lovely! The folds of her dress are clean and flow so well around the border and the Q itself. Great linework overall too.

LOL yeah the assignment was to make one of those illuminated letters, like how they have in oldschool manuscripts? With the one big letter that's all fancy and decorated? It was fun. XD
I don't think so. If I get this thing scanned /maybe/, as I'd be paranoid to touch it with water color or anything. @_@

Aw, man watercolor would be perfect for it! But I certainly understand, I'm always afraid I'll screw up with watercolor too XP such a difficult medium

Uuumm depends on where you get it/what brand, but they can get pretty pricey if you go for the big deluxe flat-bed scanners.
