Description Descended from small semi arboreal dromaeosaurids, dracoriraptoroids have come a long way from their humble origins. Most modern dracoriraptoroids are black a white, adaptations to help them blend into dark foliage at night or to stand out, depending on what they are hunting.
Smallest of the terrestrial dracoriraptoroids is nyctoraptor, a small nocturnal hunter of small mammals.
A mid sized member is dracoriraptor itself, a social and intelligent pursuit predator.
The biggest dracoriraptoroid is gigaraptor, a massive predator that leaps onto mid sized prey to break backs and necks.
Dracoriraptoroids have many ways of dealing with prey. Sticky, acidic vomit composed of rotting flesh, toxic plants and venom or poison for various prey animals is used to instantly blind or incapacitate prey. Their tail and arm feathers are useful in jumping onto prey or into trees away from danger. Their large arms tipped with razor sharp talons are great for gripping running prey to keep inflicting damage. Fingers and toes are equipped with spiked pads which aid in gripping even the smoothest scaled creatures. And their notorious sickle claws are deadly dispatch tools used to restrain struggling prey and to deal deadly wounds to vital areas such as throat and underbelly. Their bright crests are used for communication, mating display and heat regulation.
All in all, dromaeosaurs of Subterramundus have established themselves and found incredible success in the forests and jungles of the hidden world.
