Who's comforting who?Undertale is officially my new obsession.
Turns out listening to the appropriate songs is extremely helpful- while I was listening to various Undetale soundtracks throughout this painting, the one that originally inspired me was His Theme . I swear, this song just melts my heart every time.
Not gonna say much more; the picture speaks for itself. Or not. Maybe you'll come up with a different meaning behind it, I'm not in your head. Β

Actually, yeah, there are people who believe that's Chara talking. Personally, I like to think that Asriel's saying those lines, but Chara's thinking the exact same thing resulting in the voices getting mixed up in Frisk's head.

Just yes. Even if that's not what really happened, I have convinced myself that Chara did possess Frisk when they met Asriel, or at least heavily influenced them during their battle. In fact, I've had this scene in my head for a while- mostly my own thoughts during that moment, but here it is:
Chara: It seems like there's still one last person that needs to be saved. But who...? Suddenly, you realize.
Frisk: Realize what??
Chara: You reach out and call their name...
Frisk: ???
Chara:Β Just let me take over.

It said THEIR name, not HIS name. Frisk might have SAVED Chara, which triggered a flashback of them being saved by Asriel. I feel like it was through Chara that Asriel was able to feel compassion again.

This is a really adorable theory, and it would explain the small flashback we see during the battle. And I just love the thought of Asriel being able to feel compassion again through Chara, that's just so cute. <3

Well, Frisk did hear Asriel's voice when they fell at the garbage dump area. Frisk may have realized that the person Asriel kept talking to during the videos would help them out somehow. So they called for them. They called Chara.
BTW, you noticed th coffins of previous humans were empty after saving Asriel? Sounds unlikely, but I think they got resurrected?

Man, I just love this theory. It doesn't really work if you believe in the Passive/Narrator Chara theory (which I do, obviously XD), but just think of all the possibilities!
Wait, seriously? I had no idea until I saw this actually.
So one side of my brain does consider this unlikely, like you said, but the other-- it really wants to believe they're alive somehow. I'll have to look deeper into this.

We only call Frisk Napstablook and Chara with THEY. Asriel is obviously a he and Frisk doesn't really know Asriel personally at first (no ACTs for him), so who else would have helped us to know him more? We called their name and they answered.
