Description I decided to do a practise page for the new project I'm working on, just to work out what sort of style and method I want to use. And also I needed it for class, haha!
I think I might actually stick with doing this comic entirely in pencil and keep it rough....maybe a little neater than this, or at least in the margins, which are filthy here! Sorry. X)
The nice thing about this style and method is I can do a whole page in less than two hours...which for me is fantastic. And with practice that would likely pick up as well.

Since this was just a trial page, and in an arbitrary part of the story that I may or may not include, I didn't bother with the dialog. Feel free to imagine your own dialog! It's like a game on the back of a cereal box! But with no cereal.

Let me know what you guys think...could you deal with a comic in pencil like this? Would ink be better? Washes to add some depth? I'm curious to know what people's opinions are, so please feel free! :>

really nice work, I love the drawing but I think there is something strange on the narration composition of your page.

This page seems to be readable from left to right, in the "occidental way", and I believe that the way you made your third panel (importance, size, shape) makes us naturally skip the second one. ( it makes us naturally read the second one right after the third one) and that breaks the chronological sense of your story.
Do you see what I mean ? (it's a little hard to explain, and I don't know if it's just my problem, I recognize that the question of the reading direction is hardly cultural)

anyway, this is a really nice drawn work ^^

I think I see what you're saying.
I've pretty damn rusty when it comes to good, solid page layouts, so comments like this are really helpful. I have trouble, from my biased position telling how something is going to read because...well, naturally I know how it's supposed to read. I just know that that's not always the case!
Thanks for the feedback on it, it'll give me something to keep in mind on future pages I work on!!

I am all for this plan, especially if you promised me I could look at it in person. 8| I MISS HIGH SCHOOL ONLY FOR THIS PART.

I commented on tumblr first, oops.

Haha, I mean, whenever possible, you can see them first. It's never going to have the same effect as The Binder in high school though. :> Although it's not a bad habit to keep pages in a nice binder like that, come to think of it.....

Let's get some high class binders this time around. Like Batman.
