Description
After the return of the Nirvana to the Mejere system and the armistace between the Women of Mejere and the Men of Tarak, a technological exchange coupled with the technology of the Nirvana and the Pexis resulted in a number of new combat units produced- both Vanguards and dreads. The newest Vanguard is the Imto type, designed by Hirohito Imato based on the specifications of Vandread Dita.

However, because of the size of the Imto type, a smaller analog was constructed for mass-production use in areas that currently used the Tsukumo type Vanguard (seen in the begnning of the series) and the Jahteh type used just before the Nirvana returned to the Mejere system. This analog was the Kilratu-type, designed by one of the first Tarak-Mejere construction companies from a merge of two industries.

The Kilratu type Vanguard incorporates many Vanguard construction techniques but some computer components reminicent of their dread counterparts. Pexis-based systems copied from the Nirvana are also incorporated into the design. The first units were issued to the 1rst Pexis guard, otherwise known as the 42nd Tarak special Vanguard unit... a unit which accompanied the Nirvana on it's way home.

It is said that each unit of the 1rst Pexis guard incorporates in each machine a peice of the pexis progma crystal... giving these Vanguards extraordinary powers when invovled with the mysterious Pexis.
