Description This was actually my first serious painting of this year I finished not just tossed aside in wip stage - based on a dream I had so this one coming with a small story!
Though this one not as colorful like my previous submissions were - this exactly what I needed for the atmosphere and mood I had from the dream

Death of the Gods

There it stood, behind the World hidden from the Eyes far from the Light what Life was bathing in. But it did exist. The Ancient ones were not just a fairy-tale. It was at the first blink scary and shocking - the knowledge that there were Gods even before Time.

How long it was there? What purpose it served once when it was whole and not dying slowly with every breath of mankind … rotting away just like the World was collapsing around the Gods mankind knew now.

It seen human born, grow and evolve. It seen when the first God, Hunger raised from the spark of humankind to come to Life and demand more and more from those who created It, falsely name Itself their true and only God.

That was the moment the Ancient ones stood aside. They were not meant to rule over the Life what was born from the World which was their creation. They watched with Joy and then stood aside in their peace, dying slowly as the newborn Gods were feasting on their flesh and bones accepting their Fate as they simply Loved the miracle of Life; the mankind more then wanting to enslave and rule them.

oh wow, you do?
I mean it's better than nothing, if you have more pictures and products people might buy more
it's so nice that there is a place like that for artists to make a little extra money.

I don't have that much income from my Redbubble or Society6
but I'm focusing more on books right now.

I know this is an original thing, BUT, I’m getting an Etheral XCOM and Eater of Gods Dark Souls 3 vibe.

The first one I never heard of - the latter I only know the DS title but not quite the designs.

This one was partially a remake of a VERY old design of mine >> ic.pics.livejournal.com/chayot… which was actually inspired by a long dead MMO; Warhammer Online conceptual works of the Chaos main city.
Though the golden ornament heavily Inca inspired >> www.connectingcultures.us/reso… and chairish-prod.freetls.fastly.n… which I assume the inspiration source of that dark soul character as well

The headdress suppose to present Sun, the God figure in my dream was a creator of some and Inca Sun masks perfectly symbolized everything I needed visually to express well the concept so I take no shame having inspiration for this work I still feel I could dress the concept into my own style making it a bit different, something 'new'

Wow. That’s cool, and I wish I heard of/played Warhammer Online. I know there are fake servers that you could play on but I wish I could have played it when it was in its prime. The Ethereal were tall, spindly with multiple arms. And the Eater of Gods was a worm-serpent with a human torso and head with an ornate Gwendolynesk headdress.

It is a very old one and the ones developed it had a very poor client communication and care so no wonder game workshop never interested to renew the contract with them to keep on using their copyrighted world/characters. A pity because the system was nice equal pvp and pve with fun scenarios but extremely unbalanced not having same classes on each side but individual classes with "counterparts".
I heard of the fake servers, Myhtic and Goa gave out the game files and let others keep/improve but it is not really the same.

I dig the designs of those - I have soft spot on creature/critter designs overall just as I enjoy a lot of mythological creatures (Medusa, merfolks, fauns.. etc). But then I have taste for a lot of various things - this just a bit of secret love among my works

Ah. I like making “abominations”. It lets me design how I want to. If I make a mistake, I incorporate it into the design.

Ah, I would've thought it was an oil painting.

Also, I like how you put a rowboat at the bottom for scale. It really makes the creature look epic in size.

I learnt a few tricks from various concept artists like this one - presenting sizes well without destroy the compisition or the focus can be achieved by placing objectives the viewer can compare with, this gives depth, height and strength to the illustration and must agree with that statement it really works out well for arts as this

Thank you!
I kind of love having visible strokes on my digital paintings, give a hint of traditional or mural feel to them - adds the charm
