Description a Tocororo or Cuban Trogon (Priotelus temnurus). iat the beggining, Capuli was going to be one of these beautiful birds (which are, BTW, the national bird of Cuba) but in the end I decided a bee hummingbird would be more physically specific

another animal painting in an ultra generic pose, yay! I promise I'm working on some more interesting art (comics, landscapes, humans, and animal OCs). been a little blocked, that's all.

next page of LaF will be up tomorrow night, I'm only lacking one pannel and a few BGs. if anything, I had been already working on Page 3 and a little of page 4 xD but of course, page 2 should be finished first.

The leafs and the back of the bird could use more detail but the composition and colors are great. Amazing work on the details of the chest and head of the bird.

Te quedo hermoso :3 No conocia estos pajaritos, tienen un diseño interesante y me llamó enormemente la atención la forma de las plumas de la cola. Las texturas de este son increibles... se ve tan peludito y acariciable... sobretodo bajo el pico, esta tentador para ponerle el dedo y rascarlo.

The pose is more than forgiven, given as how trogons tend to be very boring animals when perching.

I kid you not, I could ont find any photo of this species in flight xD and yeah, all the perching poses looked virtually the same.

With the exception of the quetzal, it really is almost impossible to find pictures of trogons in flight, as they only fly when they really, really have to (i.e., when they're leaving their sleeping place, when they're pouncing on food, or have been flushed from their perch).
It makes you wonder how the family was able to achieve a circum-tropical distribution.

sí, ésta es endémica de Cuba . acá en Argentina también hay trogones, aunque sólo en el norte

para ser una estudiante, tengo una biblioteca considerablemente grande y todavía hay muchísimos libros que me encantaría comprar!
no, no tengo ése aunque hay una guía completa de las aves de Colombia (no recuerdo el autor de momento ) que hace rato tengo entre ojos

Una pena, conseguir buen material sale caro; una vez ví un libro excelente sobre aves de los Andes... costaba mi salario de dos semanas.
