Description I had an old, getting bad off looking unicorn that I've had for YEARS and decided it needed a makeover. This is that makeover. A lot of the inspiration for the looks came from how pretty all the horses and unicorns LadyLittlefox has done. Now this is no where nearly as nice and it will never leave me but I'm still happy with the looks. Just one piece of advice - NEVER try to freehand cut a cover for an already made plush. I did that and luckily you can't see the ugly seams it gave me or all the trouble it caused If I ever do another one I'll be smart enough to use a pattern.

Ooooo someone had alot of fun!!!!!!  I think she looks lovely!!!  Huge improvement on the original!   Love those crystal touches, and the horn looks awesome!  And she looks so soft!

LOL yeah freehanding a cover is evil!  I should have told you the trick...  if you can stuff her, stuff her as tight as you can, wrap her in suran wrap, then use masking tape or duct tape, your preference, and wrap her up gently.   Then once you get her wrapped, mark where you want seams on the tape and cut very carefully there to remove it from her.   Then just flatten those pieces out and you have your pattern (add seam allowances of course).   Old corset maker's trick but works pretty well for stuffies.

Oh something I discovered on eyes,  take yourself a piece of black felt, cut it into a sort of curved diamond if that makes sense (I know there's a word for it but it eludes me at the moment), so that it's slightly bigger than your eye with points towards the nose and the ear more or less, and put it behind the eye when you glue.  Gives them a bit of pop.

Fun and hair pulling too but I AM happy with the finished look for the most part. I do like the foil pleather even though it doesn't show well in the pictures, it was just the perfect thing for the horn. ....after I moved the horn to where it SHOULD be. I used gold thread to make the spiral look and that came out better than I thought it would. I kept remembering how you do the "glittery" effects on yours and just had to add the crystals. Just wish I had more on hand to add! Though I might add more later on if I find some I really like - the back just seems a little bare...

D'oh! That would have been a lot easier, I've got plenty of both duck tape and masking tape but at least I've got the trick for the next one - my muse Bunny keeps bugging me to make a big one but I keep telling him I have no place to put it....yet...

Actually that does make sense, it's also something I couldn't figure out on my own how to do so I left it out. I wonder if I can add it over top of the eye....  I wanted the definition around the eye but didn't want to use the black cord I had (the nostrils and mouth lines) and couldn't figure out how to do it. Using felt, I might be able to add it in even now if I cut out the eye hole. I'll have to tinker with it as I have plenty of black felt.

Thanks for the tips! I made sure to copy them into Word so I don't lose or forget them.
