Description Part 1 - Setting up Photoshop, Base Colours and blending colours together...

Following on from my earlier flash tutorial which gave an overview on how I colour in Photoshop, this now goes into much more detail to try and take you step by step through the process, in the hope you'll find it useful for your own colouring efforts!

There will be more sections released over the next couple of weeks (at most, I'm hoping I can get them compiled much quicker if I can) where I'll take this picture further in terms of giving it texture, lighting, shadows, muscle definition and a simple background!

For now I hope this helps a little to get you started!

umm I got 2 questions

1.can the line art be done in a sketch(whaite paper then scan it)
2.what type of photoshop is that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

notveryathletic In reply to KawaiiPanda15 [2010-07-25 18:23:42 +0000 UTC]

1. Yes but you may need to do some adjustments to the contrast to have dark enough linework
2. Photoshop 7.0

Hi. I've been looking for different types of coloring methods for a while, experimtenting with several different kinds. I also have this half-finished picture from...I'd say about half a year ago.
I'm using this tutorial with said picture right now. Thanks, it's looking quite good.
