Yesh so I finally drew another saree girl..after about 2 years XD Oh well. Nothing much to say about this, well she's just a girl wearing a saree and it's pouring..and she's got sparkly bokeh all around her. Okay jk about the last bit..but I tried adding a serious bokeh effect for the first time. Tell me whatcha think! And them transparent umbrellas...I quite like em so I thought I'd put em here heh.Done in Photoshop CS3 with my intuos4. Took around 4 hours over the last three days. Used a reference for the umbrella.
This is specially dedicated to the awesome folks over at GRAFA :[link] whose support and encouragement over the last few years have inspired this kid and keeps her going. And since they keep asking for a 'deshi' girl, so I drew a girl wearing a saree XD

Hehe well I didn't really think of her ethnicity when I was painting it to be honest, but there are plenty of really pale Indian people actually...but I just like to think of her as a random girl wearin a saree XD

yeah, pale ones in india are mainly "Northern Indian" which is make up less than 5% and cultural common closest to Pakistan than rest of India!

Well yeah, but many of them are quite settled in India and there are many like that around Bangladesh as well.. There's a lot of people from mixed ethnicities..so someone might turn out looking really pale maybe because of some ancestor from that region, but they're very much Indian or something... Anyway like I said, I didn't really think of any ethnicities when painting this, and I'm not even Indian XD

What is about me, do I look like south asian? Lots of people mistook me as turkish, greek, iranian and spanish

I don't know how you look so I can't tell, but to be honest, a lot of people migrated from those Areas into our region...so I wouldn't be too surprised if they find a resemblance!
