Description April 11, 2008

Yeah, I finished it and realized I had to make a new signature on there for 2008. Normally I would've made one at the end of December. But, if you've been keeping track, you kinda know what went wrong there.

But this is my first piece in almost six months. I was playing Chrono Trigger in the hospital for the billionth time, and since getting out I've been playing the hell out of Chrono Cross. With the Chrono series on my brain, it seemed like a good time to get a fanart up.

My alternate line for Crono was "It's true: No good deed goes unpunished!" Do you like that better? I kinda do, but I thought it might go over too many heads.

Anyway, this is 1005 A.D., five years after Chrono Trigger. By this point Crono and Marle are married. And Lucca has found a little baby in the woods and adopted her. And Porre, a formerly friendly protectorate of the kingdom of Guardia attacks and conquers the long-standing nation. HOW? Beats me, that's the subject of much debate.

All I know is when I saw that cutscene, my reaction was exactly the same as Crono's. It was like "What did I bother killing Lavos for, then?"

And this one was fun because I got to take a little artistic license with the outfits. I wanted to think of what they'd look like a little older, and comfortably living in the castle. I was also originally going to have them just standing there, kinda deadpan. But I figured no matter what became of Crono and Marle, I doubt they just stood there when Porre attacked. So I changed it to Crono drawing his sword, and Marle getting ready to cast a spell (I didn't feel like drawing a crossbow! ^_^).

And I added the cat. I loved the role that cats played in Chrono Trigger. And I figured Crono wasn't gonna move out of his mom's house without taking his little cat with him! NEVER! ^_^

Finally, I nearly forgot by God, but I did remember. I managed to get a visual aide for Marle's pose courtesy of *SenshiStock 's very useful gallery.

Dalton was the reason why Porre attacked. If you remember Dalton didn't die but was sent to another dimension somehow he got out and vowed revenge.

Check the date on this.

You're right about Dalton, that's what was eventually revealed. However, I lack the ability to see into the future, so I had no idea that was the case when I drew this some six months before the DS port came out. ^_^

No problem I confirmed a gut feeling when I play it on the DS. I knew he didn't die and of course there was Chrono Cross something was said about receiving help or something like that.

I thought their reaction would've been like,"Damn, this sucks!" But yea...when I saw the end, I was like,"What the hell?! They can save the future from a god-like parasite alien...thing, but they can't save their pathetic kingdom?!" They really need to explain that one. Nice picture, BTW.

Kinda sad that it all ends like that. It annoys me that they fought Lavos for no reason. They didn't get their "Happy Ending" for very long. I wish I could have joined them in that fight (if I had powers) to try to save the Guardia Kingdom, CT The Best RPG Ever in my book >_>!

Oh. Is that your version of this, right?
Great colors. Crono looks too happy for this situation XD
And he with long hairs? Dear Gods Oo'
And uh... what` s with Magus? I found a theory that it was him, who stole the Masamune, but it`s kinda stupid >.>

He always had pretty long hair, it's just pulled back now, instead of going every which way like in the game. Like I said in my commentary, I took a few liberties here, since he's five years older and part of the royal family now.

And yeah, I can't imagine Magus doing that. Some people think it may have been Dalton. He does seem more the type, but that seems like a long shot too.

Depends. "Chrono" as is in Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross does have an H in it.

"Crono" as in the character, does not.

Heh, I always knew that the power would go to Crono's head sometime. I mean just think about it, he has luminare!
