I just created a really annoying original character.I started drawing a body practice but it transformed into a pose practice. So this is 12th pose practice so far. I wanted to draw really slim character for a chance, but I couldn't use Sayaka for the task. She is a bit chubby and I feel it's for the best to not ask miracles from her.
So I ended up drawing a totally random character. I wanted to make her expressions very neutral so that she would be more suitable model. The problem is that she is a bit cold princess-type person. And noisy too. She is 18 years old mind you, she is just... underdeveloped I guess? Her name will be Kohana.
The first three drawings were for the body practice part, but I included them here.
1. Kohana taking a nice pose. I like this angle and pose
2. Kohana leaning on something(?)
3. View from behind.
4. Fourth pose revealed her cold and condescending nature. She is somewhat bored to the poses I chose for her.
5. Kohana takes rather provocative pose on her own. Really cool viewing angle and pose which I have never tried before.
6. I made Kohana pose in a bit more exciting way. It didn't grant me any bonus points from her, in fact, she seems even colder than before.
7. Kohana lies on a bed. A space filler pose
8. Sayaka is rather upset about the new model. She is talking to Chieko who tries her best to cheer her up. (a contest winner character by wraith11 )
This was really interesting pose practice to draw. I tried to make it so that I wouldn't need mature content filter, but Kohanas poses are quite provocative.
I really don't recommend using this as an anatomy guide. I draw from memory and I haven't done extensive studies on anatomy, so I'm not sure if it's right.

I'm 27 and I'm trying to get back into drawing again. Used to draw simple comics for 6 years in school, but nothing as detailed as manga/anime, which is what I'm now pursuing.
Your artwork is so spot on that it makes me want to cry. Oh how I wish I could trade all my video game talent for pure art.

Lovely work though, great poses and love her sass. I get that she was meant to wear a white dress but...would her being a nudist detract that much from her?
Honestly that could also work in her favor, Sayaka always seems a bit reserved about posing nude (even if her confidence is growing) and Kohana seems rather
open about her body and short of showing her peach down there she doesn't seem to care. Would you at least consider it? I mean your world who says just being nude
is a bad thing? So long as you don't go flashing down there I think she could make it work with how confident she is. As always though your choice, I can't want to see what
all you do with with Kohana!

I don't consider her a nudist though. I guess going commando would fit her well (just because she couldn't find her panties with her favorite tint of white xD), but I don't think she would go around naked despite her confidence. Or rather, I don't think that's really the problem, it's just that she chooses not to. She doesn't care if people look at her, but she is aware of things that are considered unacceptable in public places, so she is simply following the rules because they are there, not out of shame

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I love how Kohana is pretty much Sayaka's antagonist, Sayaka is curvy and shy, while this new character is slim and rather "confident". Same for the hairstyles and eyes, there's a lot of contrast.
I like how lately you've improved and your poses + bodies are starting to get more and more fluid, as well as these small interactions you add, such as Sayaka here compalining about the new model, I hope they'll interact a bit in your next pose practice.

I needed very different character for pose practicing purposes, so it was natural to made Kohana the "antagonist"
Yeah, it's interesting to see how things have changed since the first pose practice. At first I was drawing only poses but then they became short stories. At some point I was pushing the story a bit too much, which then slightly affected the variety of poses and viewing angles. This Pose practice is more about poses than story, but the last panel adds some story to this practice
That impression is my fault for not revealing Kohana's white dress enough on the last panel. Now many people see Kohana as a nudist, and that was unintentional xD.

Nice to see new characters from you. But this one is not so nice like Sayaka (As personality, I mean).
I prefer sayaka remaining the whay she is, with average body. You already also have a well rounded character like Sachiko.
I'm curious to see her interacting with sayaka, but I think they can't be friend and they may end to not liking each others.

Yeah, Kohana is almost complete opposite to Sayaka
I also like how Sayaka is quite average. That's why I created Sachiko for greater curves. Kohana is so slim that it would have been stupid to redesign Sayaka.
Kohana is probably rather indifferent towards Sayaka, while Sayaka tries to get along with her. Sayaka isn't strong willed enough to fight with her and Kohana probably won't see her as a threat either.

That said, sometimes the annoying/unlikeable/generally not nice characters can wind up being a lot of fun and, I don't know about you, but letting a new character develop themselves can often be quite refreshing. That does make me want to ask though: was her nature coming through in pose 4 intentional, or just the character starting to come together on her own? Either way, she certainly seems interesting (and a good foil to Sayaka), I look forward to seeing more of her.
I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt in the last frame, and assume she's wearing a very short, white, dress. Of course, I'm biased, but I do like that last panel. Sayaka's reaction is great, and I like what you've done with Chieko here as well... especially how you've tidied up her hair. That was something I was never entirely happy with in the contest entry, but was committed by the time I realised it.

I regard her annoying to work with, like she is commenting on my choices of poses xD. She is just the type who speaks her mind without hesitation.
As a character she is pretty interesting though, a nice contrast to Sayaka. The first three poses were more general poses to showcase her body, so at that time she was very neutral character to me. Since I chose such intimidating eyes and a front view on 4th pose, I felt her personality manifesting itself. At that point I also saw her hair and eye colors in my mind: blue eyes and blonde hair, perfect for cold princess-like personality. I just wanted a neutral character for pose practicing, but her nonchalant attitude works too.
Yes, she is wearing a short white dress, but I realized I didn't draw enough visual cues about that. It wasn't until others started to comment about her being a nudist in a cafe that I realized how misleading the last panel is

I dunno, the line around the back of her neck is fairly visible (at least on a full size monitor, it was more difficult to pick on a phone or tablet screen), maybe add the hem falling across the front of her thighs a little? Particularly if it's of the looser variety.
Still, it's nice having those characters who sort of develop themselves, though as their creator it can be both useful and problematic... in some respects the ones which clock off at the end of the day are easier to deal with. 
Flicking through some of my development sketches, I get the sneaking suspicion Chieko's hair was one of the things which gave me issues, the neat versions I tried with looked too much like one of my existing characters for comfort. I'm enjoying seeing how she's changing and developing in your hands as well.

Ah yes! Small chested girls are one of my favourite things but many people always draw their girls with large chests. it's a pity.

Yeah, I have seen the same trend everywhere. It makes me feel like people are only after the breast size rather than overall beauty of female body. Bigger isn't better by default, though I understand the reasons behind it
Pose 5 is also my favorite. Very peculiar viewing angle + pose and it shows nothing. I don't get to draw the muscles and tendons of the crotch very often, so that was a perfect chance for that.
Sayaka has her place in my pose practices, I just didn't want to force her into a killer diet xD
I want to draw sensual women and in my pose practices I try to do this in elegant way without excessive sexuality. Thanks for the support, I appreciate it
