Oh weird! Are the eyes on top of the head and the nostrils the opening pointing forwards along the margin of the body capsule?

No that's the pineal macula on top. The eyes are small and placed forward (your nostrils).

OH! ...huh... The texture of the surface makes the ridge behind the pineal macula ('behind' with regard to the viewer's perspective) makes it look like the pineal macula is a raised, paired structure, but I think my eyes were playing tricks on me.
