Mheetu was called to join Scar on Pride Rock. The young cub was a little intimidated by the adult lion in front of him. He was warned by his mother and sister in secret to be wary of Scar.

“Yes Father…?” He asked.
“Come and look.” The tyrant replied.

The young cub went to the edge slowly and looked down. He saw a group hyenas chasing a lone wildebeest that was separated from it’s herd.

“You see? The strongest always triumphs over the weak. A ruler must be strong to reign over those beneath him.” Stated Scar.

“But…aren’t we supposed to protect and respect the Circle of Life?” Mheetu asked.

“The Circle of Life is a useless concept created by those who are weak. Power is where we stand boy. As the top predators of the food chain, we have the power to take what we want. We need to rule with an iron paw so those weaker will not have the chance to look down on us. Do you understand?” He said.
“Yes sir….” muttered the young cub.

He questioned what his father said as it went against everything his mother and Sarabi had taught him. Who does he listen to?
