Just sneaking this birthday gift for in at the last minute.This is her character Simon Templeton as he would appear, in that odd crossover circumstance, in the story Legends.
In the course of all that Boiler Tour stuff, Simon found himself being "adopted", for lack of a better term, by Rix and Gia Averni.
After the tour is long over, that world descends into war and there is a global bombing. Over 3/4 of the world's population is gone and those who are left have to carry on as best they can. A by-product of this disaster is that the reincarnated heroes of the past realize who they are and what they should be doing. Rix is one of these people and the story is about what happens in France. The fighting, the alliances, the re-building.
So (there really is a point to this I swear) this is what I imagine Simon would look like if he made the trip to France to join Rix and Gia as their son. He wears the red bear of Averni over his heart and the armbands mean there is an alliance with the forces of Steven de Vignolles, another hidden hero. He's just returned from a long patrol ride. Needs a bath, but that's none of my business.

Thanks Nu! It's great (or should I say, HE'S great)! You already know I love crossovers with characters I like and am interested in, and I really liked all that came out of Boiler Tour with Simon, Rix and Gia. It's nice to find out a weeny bit more than I knew about Rix and Gia's story post BT through this picture and while it isn't canon, I like to think that Simon would do well enough under those circumstances to make himself useful, and make them proud. It's the kind of situation he'd be good in and be less awkward in. Not to mention that's an immensely smart kit which I think suits him well. You made him look splendid - Simon is rather happy with that.

The Simon/Rix/Gia thing was one of my favorite things to come out of BT. I think, if I ever get around to their story, I am going to put an "adopted" son in it. For permission reasons, he can't be Simon (and I'm sure they will be the sadder for it), but there may be a respectful shade of him there.
I really wanted to make Simon look like the badass he is, but I think he'd do it in a very understated and classy way. Not a lot of extra fiddly bits.

Oh me too! The adopted son side was the nicest thing that could have happened to Simon, really, and made us both happy. I feel weirdly maternal towards him out of all of my characters, so it was a nice positive boost. *wonders if feeling maternal towards character sounds a bit strange*
He wouldn't have the patience for fiddly bits. Not when he has stuff to do, that is.

He looks as though he's made a long trip, and just wants to unwind. I love the goggles and the longish hair of Simon is still the same no matter where/when he is!
