speedpaints for today, the top was roughly 45 min, the bottom about an hour.Trying to work with blocking in than lines themselves (such as sketching a scene before you start working). Instead of doing a sketch, I have a very rough idea (or no idea at all lol) and start dapping color here and there and see what happens!

The narrator/artist of the videos makes caution to not pay so much attention to the little details outright. Do your main blocking and perspective first, and make sure it's what you want, make sure it has depth and basic shadow-then the detailing should come easy. I'm still learning, but I really recommend anyone interested in speedpainting, landscaping, and general art to subscribe.

that channel makes me feel so inferior and motivated. After watching a few moments of him whipping up something that would take me a few hours...I h-a-v-e to draw. People like him really push me to try new stuff, new techniques, and widen my horizons a bit.

A quick painting basically. These were under or around an hour, but that's a speedpaint in my case. Others may consider 2 hours a speedpaint, some only 15 mins. It's all about how you want to define 'fast painting.'

Thanks! I have a long way to go. I'd like to make my canvases bigger, details quicker, and vary my ideas. c: It's a lot of fun though when I get the chance to mess around like this.

From my perspective, you've already gotten where you'd want to go. Anyways - I'm glad you have fun messing around! (...that is not meant to sound weird...)
My canvases in photoshop are always so small - my computer can't handle too big a file, or there's horrid lag time and runs the risk of crashing. Pity.
Idea variation? Hmm...I don't know how to do that. I guess you could start with an unusual mood or setting or character. Maybe use vibrant, bright colors and lighting? The subject matter may follow just from that.

haha, once in a while. I used to draw them like the plague until about 7th grade, then I got into anthros and animals and a little bit of anime here and there (which didn't last long).
